Seriously, where were the flying dragons when I was a tot. This is the coolest toy ever. My newborn is still quite young to care too much about toys but this does hold her attention and bring a smile to her sweet face. Honestly, I am considering buying another one just as a back up because it really is a very cool toy. Even the dogs and cat all beg for it. Of course I haven’t let them have it. I am sure it is only a matter of time before one of them steals it. The wings flap perfectly every time. The colors are bright and fun and the patterns are perfect for babies. So far this is my favorite baby toy.

This was the first Lamaze company toy I bought for my daughter. She was a just under a month old but we could tell that she needed something to entertain her to keep her awake during the day. She didn't really have any toys yet and Mommy and Daddy could only entertain her so much before she was done looking at them. So we purchased Jacques and I'm very glad we did. She couldn't actually do much to play with the toy by herself but if we flapped his wings at her or flipped him from the color side to black and white and back again, it made her smile. If we helped her give his squeaker a squeeze her eyes lit up with excitement. At three and a half months now, she likes to bat at him (he's currently hanging from the attached clip to her activity mat) and make his wings make the crinkle sound. She's starting to be able to use her fingers to grab the toy as well. There's so many sensory things on this toy for a baby/ toddler to explore different patterns and textures, a rattle, a squeaker, little ribbon tags, and a high contrast b&w back. You have touch, sight and sound exploration for baby all in one toy. They are made of sturdy and quality materials making for a durable toy that will keep your baby entertained for a long time. I highly recommend it!If you like Jacques, I also recommend Fifi the firefly (though my mom calls it Betty the butterfly).

I purchased this toy for my twin granddaughters because the colors were so lovely and the animal was extremely cute! Most importantly, the product description gave complete information that ascertained there were no harmful materials or chemicals that could harm my grandbabies. I had it mailed to my address so that I could take it and other gifts when I flew to my daughter's house for Christmas. Quite a speedy delivery,I received it yesterday and when I pulled it out of the box I was shocked at the size and colors of this toy! The peacock is much bigger than I expected and the beautiful colors are beyond any baby toy I've seen...it's gorgeous!! I realized that I could NOT just bring one for my grandgirls, so I looked on the Lamaze site and found "Fifi the firefly". As I'm not sure that Fifi will be as large as Jacque, I am certain that the colors will be gorgeous. Whereas the Peacock is wide the firefly is long, a reviewer wrote that the long toy was easier for her 4mo old to handle. My grandchildren will be 5mo old by Christmas so I think each toys' variety of length and width size will be an asset for their learning to manipulate both. As they live in the South, I hope we will have warm days when I can use the ring on each toy to attach the toys to their double stroller. Besides the size and colors of Jaque; each 'feather' segment contains various stimulating surfaces such as mirror, crinkly, silky, puffy, knits as well as a face with big embroidered eyes, and a cute conical nose. On the back of the peacock are different black and white designs on each of the surfaces: stripes, polkadots, triangles, and rectangles. In addition to the visual and tactile there is also a rattle for sound stimulation. I am so pleased the toy has such a range of developmental opportunities for babies. I will highly recommend this Lamaze product. When I return after Christmas I will post information about the babies interaction with the Lamaze products especially Fifi the firefly which I've not received as of yet. Therefore those comments will be posted in the Fifi review. However I have great expectations of both!

So far, I have bought four My Friend Emily dolls over five years, for every girl baby to come into my personal circle. (The boy babies get other Lamaze animals. I wish Lamaze made a boy figure, too.) She is just the best first dolly. The ring will attach to a carrier. Her face is great for first focus, her colors are bright and various. Her clothes crinkle, which is one of the first sounds that one can tell a baby is intrigued by. She does not weight much, but is a size that is big enough to hold early and for a long time, as a cuddle friend. She will survive cleaning. In the event she gets lost or destroyed, she is easy to replace for the same reasonable money she cost in the first place. Emily will not lead a gift giver astray. Lots of toy figures will join the collection, but she will always be the first dolly, with a lot of charm and engagement.

This is one of my baby girl's top three favorite toys. Once, when she was three months old and in the midst of a complete meltdown, the only thing that would calm her down is watching the dragon fly. My hands and arms got tired, but I was so grateful that something worked! Now that she is six months old and has quite a few toys, she often selects this one and plays with it independently. The bright colors and patterns are appealing. She also enjoys gnawing on its tail. The only reason I'm not giving it five stars is that some of the dragons don't flap their wings as easily as others. I know this because our dogs destroyed our first one (I tried to salvage it by removing the damaged wings and turning it into a dinosaur, but alas, it was not meant to be) and the second one sort of flaps a bit after you pull it, then stops, then restarts.

Obviously he doesn’t know what it is but the bright colours and flapping wings holds his gaze for ages. I bought this for my friend’s three month old daughter. I wasn’t expecting to be able to leave a review based on whether the baby herself liked the doll, yet my friend tells me she absolutely fell in love with it! She wouldn’t stop staring at “Emily” and smiling. She’s now nine months old and is apparently just as enamoured! In other news, the item arrived very quickly, was well packaged and good value - in line with other Lamaze toys I’ve previous bought. Recommended.

Great quality doll for little ones. Bought 2 for my twin's 1st Birthday. We had bought them soft body baby dolls for Christmas, but they are still too small for them. The Lamaze Emily Doll is great for them; they have different textures and crinkly material that makes noise, a little flower rattle (attached to doll) and can clip onto the pram when put and about so she doesn't get lost. The bought colours give them lots to look at. This would be suitable for younger babies and even babies a bit older. My twins like chewing bits of the doll and she is easy for them to hold.

My little boy always liked Lamaze toys, so when we had a daughter, I always intended to ask Santa for the Emily doll for her first Christmas.She is 3 months old and still not terribly interested in toys, although something musical may hold her attention for a few minutes. However, she absolutely loves this doll. She smiles at her, she is fascinated by the black and white feet and she loves to crinkle the skirt. I have never seen a newborn baby so interested in a toy (or at least one which isn’t a sleep prop with a calming light and lullaby). This gets 5* from me, and I’ll definitely be buying as gifts for any friends or family having baby girls.

This is a stunning soft doll suitable for babies from birth although they probably won't actually play with it until they are a few months old. Emily doll is soft, colourful and cuddly with various textures for baby to touch and explore. There is also a handy clip to attach to chair or pram. Well worth the price.
