Harry Lorayne's Page-a-Minute Memory Book

Very useful book
I read this book 30 years ago. I had a good memory to start. But this book enabled to easily remember long lists of things (like 70 phone numbers) in a short time.I just bought the book for my two high school students and I believe it will help whenever they need to memorize things. The book is very easy to read and explains the ideas in a very easy way. I believe it is appropriate for younger students (4th or 5th grade on).You can generalize the methods to different tasks. It improves as you use it.

This Book Actually Does What It Says...
This book is filled with a good number of memory improvement tricks and techniques that are presented in a conversational style and kept to roughly a single page in length. In addition to showing you various techniques, the author subtly weaves in ways that improve your observation skills, helps you form creative associations, and that causes you to remember. There are little exercises through out the book, but they are just that - samples. There's nothing boring or done by rote. As you're reading along, several pages later (which could days later), the author indirectly tests you, validating that if you even try the technique, you get high return with minimal effort. Simply practicing seems to improve your memory even more.Instead of spending money on all those mega-memory courses, this book will get you there in shorter time and in a much more entertaining manner.

Harry Lorayne's memory system works
All of Harry's books have about the same system. It's one book ans system re-titled. I have watched Harry apply his system in person. On talk shows I workd he came in and had each member of the audience stand up and introduce him or herself. He then did the talk segment with the host. After which he introduced every single person in the audience. I have seen him do that several times. His system is the real deal.

Great Reading
Another of Harry Lorayne's useful books to capitalize on our inherent abilities.Perhaps not my first choice of his work, but sufficient to provide another perspective with copious examples of his system's application.Recommended to all students and those seeking to improve their memory with a less formidible approach than some of the author's more detailed books. Essentially, it covers the 'bare bones rapid reading approach' to his system.Several other authors have excerpted elements for their own books.(No, I have no suggestions as an endorsement. A search of the literature will reveal several)

I read this book when I was in high school and learned so much from it that I still use to this day, so I ordered a copy for my kids.

Straight to the point!
HL's book is straight to the point; you know how other writers use "fluff," and beat around the bush? HL get's right down to it, and he doesn't hold out on the goods either. This book will also force you to use your brain, that's a hidden bonus, that other writers want you to pay for, by including some link to a web site or other means... Worth every penny and more!
