A hit with a 6th grade class
My grandson was doing a report on Ecuador and needed an ethnic food to go with his report. After searching several stores with little success, and scoured amazon, I came up with these. My grandson wanted chocolate. This was the most affordable and actually from equador. Alot of choices, when researched, were from other countries. I used 26 mini pill bags for easier distribution. The flavor is higher quality, melt in your mouth, smooth and creamy, and a little different from our usual. the price is a bit high for just regular baking or candy making. There were a few pieces melted together, but we sampled those! This was perfect for what he needed/wanted.

Absolutely the best.
I bought this after a recipe recommended it for chocolate lava cakes. This was in a completely different class. If you have been using nestle chocolate then you need to give this a shot. You won't be sorry. The chocolate is rich and smooth. It reminds me of fresh chocolate I had in Sicily.

Disappointing
There are three types of tasters: Super Tasters, Medium Taster, and Non taster. It's all based on taste buds per area. I'm a super taster. My first disappointment is my fault and didn't affect the star rating, as it was my fault. I didn't see, what is plainly in the title, which I appreciate, the weight of the chocolate. I see this chocolate as a chocolate to use in recipes and for making candies. Who buys only 8 oz of chocolate to make candies. I've seen bags of chocolate buttons for this and they are always much larger, at least 2 pounds, so that was where my head was at. I figure the price was for the "bulk" buy.My second disappointment was the flavor. That one is why the 4 stars. It tastes so close to a common "lower quality" brand name milk chocolate that most people who would buy this chocolate (for making candy, truffles and in recipes) would look down their nose at. I can buy that flavor for half the price of this chocolate. The quality and ingredients are nearly undetectable in difference. The following did not affect the star rating and everyone's taste preference is different, just reporting that it was a tall to milky for me, a tad too sweet, and thus less chocolatey. There used to be chocolate, sold in uneven chucks, priced differently but the ounce in the chunk, near Christmas, in a generic white and black lettering label, wrapped in plastic thin clear wrap, that offered milk, chocolate, and dark. That chocolate (not the milk) was heaven. I haven't seen it in years and now I'm house bound due to a genetic mutation defect that causes debilitating fatigue, that gets worse as the years pass. I don't know if it still can be found near Christmas. Wish I had taken a photo of it to verify the brand. Off topic there. It was shipped and delivered at lightning speed. It was wrapped in a silver bubble wrap bag that included an ice pack, and then in a box. The condition of the chocolate was pristine, beautiful. I only buy chocolate online from November - February. I'm in the desert southwest. But my end point is, I'm going with the commoner's chocolate for half the price that I can by locally, anywhere.
