The Right Color for the Period
This paint is the right color to spray models of U.S. Navy aircraft from late1944 to the mid '50s. The entire airframes were painted Navy Blue.

Tamyia for the Win (not a bot)
Great sprays from Tamyia as always; however, it’s rattle cans, so you get a bit much more pint that you need. Just remember the rules of rattle cans 1. Shake 50 plus times before use 2. Spray upside down for 5 seconds after spray 3. Use a cotton swap with thinner to clean nozzle. Happy Painting modelers!

It's a little too light for factory fresh USN Dark Sea Blue.
Tamiya spray paints are some of the best available for the modeler. They lay down smooth and dry quickly. Tamiya AS-8 Navy Blue is no exception. It is a flat finish blue. However, it is a bit too light for a factory fresh late WWII US Navy Hellcat or Corsair. To me it looks like a sun faded USN Dark Sea Blue, so it would work for a Corsair that has been weathered in the tropical Pacific. But it lacks the almost black appearance of freshly applied Dark Sea Blue. Otherwise this is a quality modeling product, what one would expect from Tamiya.
