At 2500 mah these are about as high a capacity as rechargeable AA NiMH batteries go. They are equivalent to Eneloop Pro or Ikea Ladda in initial capacity. However, take note these are no longer made by FDK, i.e. they are no longer Japanese made batteries and may not last as long as Japanese made equivalents (like the older Eneloop or Ikea) after a few years. Those referencing the Project Farm testing completed in 2021 are referencing the prior 2450 mah version made by FDK which were essentially identical to Eneloop Pro and Ikea Ladda. There's only one large manufacturer of these NiMH batteries in Japan. The new batteries are unfortunately made in China which numerous tests show are simply not up to the Japanese standard; this includes comparisons to the newer regular AA Eneloops made in China.

Congratulations! A lighted pathway is a safe pathway. A good use of your disposable income.

Now, as stated, you have purchased a solar unit and not a lunar which is important if you want the lights to function at night.  During the day the sun's photons will be converted by the photo voltaic cells into a direct current and the electrons will then automatically be transferred to the rechargeable batteries that was included with each unit.

You are good to go. No external charging unit should be required.

These have a higher capacity than even the Eneloop Pro / Ikea Ladda however these are no longer made by FDK. They are no Japanese made batteries. They will likely degrade much faster and not last as long as the Japanese made batteries within a few years.
