Auber Instruments makes a very nice product. I mounted the main unit next to the wood burner, and the wireless unit upstairs so I didn't need to keep going down to check the temp. I set the alarms (after searching for the manual online) to meet my needs and it has functioned well. My only complaint would be that it reacts a little slow on fast climbing temps. I have moved the wireless unit several times and every time it re-connected to the main unit without issue. Highly recommend to anyone that likes to keep a close watch on their wood stove.

This product has helped me to convince my better half that I won't burn the house down with our wood stove.It also helped me to better understand the peculiar combustion process of our Jotul Black Bear by providing instant feedback as adjustments are made to the air inlet controls. Also gave me a better understanding of how best to load the stove, the burn characteristics of different types of wood and the effect of moisture content on burn quality.The "slave" unit (the one on the right) is mounted near the stove, in our basement.I bought a separate, rechargeable 12V power supply that's the same dimensions as the RF and a short jumper cable so that I can take the "master" unit with me. I keep the power power supply strapped to the master with a big rubber band. This allows me to go anywhere and keep track of the burn without needing to be near a 120V outlet.Not a cheap thrill, but well worth the investment. Besides preserving domestic harmony it has freed me from frequent trips downstairs to check the wood stove. Delivery was quick and the included instructions were comprehensive.

Product works just as stated. I've been able to use the wood stove more efficiently and with out danger of over burning now. The alarm is great for the time when i have to start a fire and walk away to do something else. I have it set to warn me before an over burn situation happens. The remote unit is great i can see what the stove is doing with out having to go into the basement to check. It took a little bit of time to get set up properly. Just read the manual and follow the directions anyone with some technical skills can set it up.

This is my 2nd purchase, 1st one was the single unit. I loved being able to monitor stove pipe temperature instantly and be warned of over heating before it became a problem. This one lets me monitor temperature from the living room AND the upstairs master bedroom, Love it!

A widely accused fiscal conservative, I looked for a comparable device at a lower price point for two heating seasons, all the while walking downstairs and over to the stove to check on the burn and flue temp, over and over and over again. I considered buying a wireless meat thermometer at one point but finally admitted to the insanity of the approach; broke down recently and bought what seemed at the moment a pricey little gadget. My only regret: I wish that I had gotten it two years ago. If for no other reason (and there are several, actually) simply set the alarm temp and you never have to worry about over-fires again. (There is a comprehensive instruction pdf on the Auber site; as noted in another review, no printed instructions come with the kit.) I did not buy the external alarm--the send/receive units themselves will sound an alert. I splurged on the magnetic sensor--didn't want to drill a hole in the stove-pipe--and it works well. Temp is instantly sent to wherever you have the receiver (and also displayed on the sending unit next to the stove).Bottom line: a terrific accessory for anyone who uses a stove in their home.

They are great, and AUBER Service is the best. The manual is a little hard to understand but they sent me a text step by step setup of the units.

Used on my woodstove. Everything works as it should. BUT.... no instructions what so-ever ! I figured it out, but some people might not. I would of given a 5 star if it had installation directions or user info on hook up.
