A great addition, fast fairly quiet and pretty compact.
I didn't need this Stove but being a stoveaholic I couldn't resist.I have many ways to boil water etc but I really like this stove, works well even in the wind (moderate wind tests so far) is pretty quiet unless at full bore and its very quick to boil water ( I use toaks 1600 ml titanium pot or zebra 14cm lunch pot)I'm tending to take this out instead of of trangia burner because it's so quickbut I do like the total silence of the spirit burner.

Excellent stove
Excellent stove for the price. Best stove I've used in windy conditions.

Brilliant piece of kit
This really is a great bit of kit - used it for the first time at a 24 hour running event where I had 50 minutes between runs and it was brilliant- a kettle of water boiled so fast so I could make my food with time to spare - Would highly recommend it

Light weight stove
Used for a couple of long distance trails it’s now become a firm favourite. Please note stove has to be screwed home to action the valve on some gas canisters, not sure of the build quality on some canisters.

I want to give 5 but...
It's not perfect... it does most of the things I've always wanted a burner to do, it works in the wind so I got rid of my windshield! It has an igniter so I got rid of my lighter! It has a foldout pot support that makes my pots/pans more stable when in use on it! It's also really powerful, quick to boil water! The only real problem it has is control... if iam cooking and need a low heat to simmer... iam going to burn something. Its designed to work in the wind, one of the ways it does this, is by being very close to the pan and having a high gas output, that's great for not letting the wind blow it out, but it means that on its lowest setting its quit hot.I've had 5 stoves, this is the best one in almost all areas... its not for simmering and its not cheap!

Light and fuel efficient
I've now taken this stove on a couple backpacking trips, so I now have about three weeks of experience in the outdoors with it. I've only used it with the wide pot base (which I just leave on the stove body - fits in the storage pouch just fine). The design does help with operation in windy conditions, has a very good boil time and can be used to simmer food (mostly used to boil water for rehydrating food and making a morning coffee, but have also cooked eggs without burning). Very happy with the purchase.

THIS is the one you want
I own almost ten of this type of burner. Rather than bash them, here is why this is THE one you should buy:1. Efficient - I weigh fuel canisters before and after a trip, making notes of how many meals I got out of it. This stove is about 20% more efficient than every other one I used to use -- more so if you have a heat exchanger on your cookware.2. Stability - you can use really small or pretty large containers without fear of them falling off. The arms adjust from small to wide.3. Stability 2 - with four arms rather than 3, you'll be more comfortable that your food won't boil over and land on the ground4. packed size - the arms are separate, making it easy to pack this stove small5. Wind resistant - it really does a good job in crosswinds6. Piezeo lighter - look, I can't see a reason why a company would NOT have a spark-generating feature on these stoves. None. Who wants to mess around having to look for a lighter? Who wants to put their hand near the ignition? Again, none people.7. Burner size - the wider diameter burner element heats more surface area faster, which cooks faster and allows you to use less fuel.8. Threads - the threads and gasket on them are beefy and provide more peace of mind in terms of holding the weight of your food. I've had cheaper ones strip and tilt over.9. Reasonably light. No, it's not titanium, but it's light for the features.10. Regulator - very wide range and precision-crafted. No zero to 100 with a millimeter of a bump. You have control over your flame. The SOTO product line is solid and reliable for outdoor adventures. It's not as expensive as other brands, I it's reliable, studurdy and efficient. Stop buying $25 versions that break. Just buy this one and be done.

Das Original. Absolut empfehlenswert
Wir oft billig kopiert z.B. von Champingmoon. Das hier ist das Original und von der Qualität und Technik m. E. der beste Aufsatzgaskocher den man für Geld kaufen kann. Man braucht keinen zusätzlichen Windschutz. Die Firma Soto aus Japan ist nicht zu vergleichen mit chinesischen Billigherstellern. Das Ding ist Hightech.

Outstanding
Quality is amazing. Japanese craftsmanship. Best quality hiking stove I've seen to date. Lightweight but holds pots and containers very stable.

Worth the price, but not a small as some competition.
The craftsmanship from Soto is always impeccable. Works great in windy conditions. Heats water quick enough and does well with veggies, noodles, rice, and meat. Used Soto cook set and had little issues. Might go a little fuel heavy, but didn't matter to me.
