Q: Do both ends already have hardware attached or is one open ended for smal guage charms?

Yes both ends have hardware but I took one of my ends of to add pieces then I reattached the end piece and they worked perfect

about 2 mm thicker than the cord.

It's a crimped connector so. If u cut it u will have to: 1. Seal the cord so it doesn't fray . 2. open and recrimpnthe connector. After cutting the cord

I dont remember exactly but its atleas a few mm thicker than the necklace. and they are non-removable.
