Reel Works Very Well
4.5 stars as implemented, raised to 5 stars due to excellent customer service.Reel used to hold 250-300' of 5/8 hose to run from hydrant to stock tank for 1x/week winter filling while waiting for spring thaw (so underground pipes could be repaired).Pros:** Reel really does hold 300' of hose comfortably** Hose can be reeled onto reel very easily (see technique below)** Hose unreels very easily too, no tipping over of cart while dragging hose off-- a great convenience when you are going up to 300' away in the mud and/or snow** nice fat handle, not cheap thinwall conduit** wheels are large, and easily cross curbs, bumpy grass hummocks, and reasonable depths of snow. Balance is good too, although the handle could be a bit longer for me** maneuverability is excellent. I wanted a 2 wheel cart vs. 4 wheel cart for this reason.Cons-- all very minor:** I found the cart push handle could be 6" taller. Still very usable. Perfect height for 5'6" person, but that is not me.** the central tube in the reel (the "axle") is hollow, and can fill with water. While the unit needs to be protected from freezing anyway (you can't use frozen hose very easily), accidental freezing may damage the axle tube and I felt the tube should be sealed off as the part would be hard to replace. There are other metal parts that can be damaged by freezing, but those are by and large standard plumbing parts and easy to obtain.** the reel handle has metal to metal contact when rotating in its collar (the collar bearing itself is plastic, but the edge of the handle can contact the cylinder holding the plastic bearing part). I fabricated a washer of packing plastic-- you know that stiff sheet stuff that tools come in, and is pretty darned hard to get your stuff out of. This has worked very well, and should reduce the chances of rusting (my main concern is reduction of rusting).** the hose whip on the reel is really stiff when cold. It works fine anyway, but it would be an improvement to have a low temperature hose plastic. This is user replaceable, it is after all just a short piece of hose w/hose connections and can be salvaged from a future dead low temp hose.Other:** I felt the basket was a waste of money for me. Maybe others stash all sorts of stuff in the basket. A hook or clamp for the hose whip on the reel would be more useful.Unless you are Arnold Swartzenegger, the easiest way to wind the hose back on the reel is to pull the hose back towards the reel in a big U or W so that you aren't pulling more than 25-50' of hose at a time onto the reel. Longer tends to be very fatiquing-- up to 50', it is very easy to put your foot on the cart base, guide the hose with one hand, and crank the reel with the other hand. Indeed, it is amazingly easy compared to the cheap plastic reels. You get what you pay for I guess. I never dreaded rewinding the water filled hose with the Liberty 880 hose cart unlike those infernal cheap reels, or having to coil the hose up, lug it around, getting wet and muddy in the process.Customer service: One wheel would not hold air pressure, it would leak down overnight. No problem getting a warranty replacement.Too bad hardly anyone will read this review, since it appears the model 880 is out of production or otherwise unavailable...

Solid cart after 6 years.
I've had this cart for 6 years now. I put it out in the spring and store it in the garage over winter and it's held up well. In the past, I've had plastic hose carts that have worn over time and never really worked as well as this cart so this is worthy of a positive review.Pros:-This cart rolls and maneuvers well with the large wheels. I find it easier to move than the models I've had with 4 small wheels.-It stays put pretty well when pulling hose off or putting it back on. When the reel is empty, I have to hold my foot on the cart for a bit to keep it in place while cranking the handle but, once some hose is loaded, it stays on its own.-I find the simplicity of the open reel on this cart more convenient than the carts that are more enclosed. My other cart requires you to thread the hose through a little handle that's supposed to help guide the hose onto the reel but it doesn't work very well so I don't use it and now it's just in the way.-The metal cart is solid after 6 years of use and the brass fittings have held up well.-The wire basket is nice to hold nozzles or other items when you're not using them.Cons:-The cart came with non-stainless nuts and bolts that I expected to rust over time so I replaced them with stainless when I assembled it. That added extra expense up front, but has proven to be a wise decision as everything is still holding up well.-The pneumatic tires go flat in storage. It's a minor inconvenience but it hasn't bothered me enough to replace them with solid wheels.-Over time, the crank handle will start to make awful screeching noises when you crank it but a little lubricant fixes it for a while.I paid a little under $125 for it in 2014, which I considered a bit of a gamble since hose carts usually don't last very long, and I'd say it's been a good investment.

Perfect Garden Cart for My Extra-Thick Hoses
This little hose cart fits the bill perfectly. I have two NeverKink 5/8-Inch by 100-Feet Series 3000 Extra Heavy Duty Garden Hose attached to this cart. These hoses are extremely thick and heavy, and the the plastic hose cart I previously owned, a Suncast SMW200 Mocha Wicker 225-Foot Capacity Smart Trak Hideaway Hose Reel , simply couldn't handle 200ft of these extra thick hoses. This hose cart assembles relatively easily. It took my partner and I under an hour to get it put together. You will need a bicycle pump to air up the pneumatic tires on the cart. The barrel and handle seem very sturdy, and I have had no issues with them. We use the little basket to store additional hose garden attachments.I did read about problems with rust from other Amazon reviewers. My house has a small eave/overhang where the roof extends over the hose spigot, so I try to make sure the cart is at least partially out of the elements. But I am sure it gets wet with blowing rain. That said, I have not noticed any rust on this cart after a couple of a relatively wet spring. I plan on taking it into the shed during the winter.I like the cart is sturdy and doesn't hop up or tip while winding my hoses. I like that the metal construction and large barrel holds my hoses. And finally I think it is an attractive cart that looks nice when I'm using it to garden.

Difficult Assembly
This hose reel cart did not work for us. This product was actually a box of many, many parts and required far too much DIY for us. Sadly, we did not actually open the box for more than 30 days and did not realize, until it was too late to make a return, that this box of very expensive parts was useless to us.

Sturdy
Much sturdier than others. Defective tire replaced immediately by Liberty. Large capacity reel! Easy to use.

Handle falls off
First, a part was missing and it took me a while to figure it out because the instructions showed how to out together m things that were already assembled. It should have been helpful but in these circumstances made it harder.Thankfully they responded promptly to my request in their website and sent me a new assembly. Took a couple of extra weeks but we got there eventually.Second the handle keeps on falling off: maybe I’m doing something wrong but I mounted it according to the instructions.Basically, using the handle to turn the barrel and get the hose rolled up unscrews the handle.I don’t have a solution for that and believe it’s a design flaw.Hence the 3 star ratings.
