Best quantity and quality
I've ordered many boxes of their hay over the past few years, once every 30-40 days, and they're always stuffed full; last months order was overfull and bulging so much I'm surprised the box didn't rupture. Much appreciated! The quality has always been good-to-great and absolutely amazing with my most recent purchase - a new cut. I was worried my bun wouldn't eat 1st cutting timothy hay as it's a little more straw like than the grassier 2nd cutting (we tried oat hay and alfalfa hay briefly in the past, bun wasn't a fan) but our bun started having some digestive cecotrope issues and we had to remove all sweets and treats. I read that 1st cut Timothy hay is better for buns with digestive issues and decided we should try a box hoping bun would grow to like it as she's very food motivated. To my surprise bun loves the new hay even more than the old 2nd cut tim hay or orchard grass she usually gets. She's been devouring it and even drags a long strand or two with her when she runs up to greet us (or beg for fresh leaves whenever the fridge opens) but it was so cute, she's almost 3 and has never brought her hay anywhere before so I'm guessing it's good stuff. She seems happy and eager to eat it.Our next box should be here tomorrow and assuming the quality is roughly the same this will become our new norm. Good stuff 👍((I know there's variation in hay but it needs to be longer strands, not chopped or overly dusty, and free of pest insects other animals feces which I got in a box of hay from another brand.))

1st cut worth it
We’ve used both 2nd and 1st cut and the first cut is my favorite. We have two guinea pigs and they love the flower and have been eating a lot more which is great!Worth the price the box always makes it so easy to use and easy to store,I’ve used other brands and after our first buy we kept coming back to this one.I appreciate the bulk amount it makes it last longer and it’s better than what I found in stores.

The ONLY hay I will feed.
I wont feed my bunny anything else. This is a consistent product. I especially appreciate that I can order first cutting to receive a nice stem for a rabbits gut health. There's not much else to say. This is nice and green and fragrant of nutritional quality. It's solidly packed and there's even a little card in it from the person who packed it. Kind of like the preverbal mint on the pillow. I've never had a single issue with mold or poor quality. If your not feeling your rabbit this, you really should be because I've also never had an issue with GI stasis in my rabbit.

I would love to give this hay 5 stars
I would love to give this hay 5 stars, as my piggles love it, but after ordering the 10lb boxes of this hay three separate times, I was a little disappointed with the inconsistent quality of the hay. I should mention, my guinea pigs have loved every box of this hay, which is why it still gets 4 stars. I ordered the 12oz bag of the first cutting of the hay to let my piggles try it. I was so impressed with the quality, I ordered the 10lb box. My first box was kind of dusty, and the hay looked a bit dull compared to the super green hay I'd received in the 12oz bag, and there were some brown parts I had to throw away. It still smelled fresh, and my pigs loved it so I kept it without complaints. The second box I ordered was everything I could've imagined, super green and super fresh smelling. The first cutting contains TONS of seed heads, which my piggles adore, but also a lot of thick stalky bits they never finish, so I end up having to discard quite a bit, even though they chow down on this hay. A few days ago I had my mom order the second cutting for me to see if I could waste less hay while cleaning their cage, and while there was a lot of fresh fragrant green hay, there was also quite a bit of brown hay as well. More than I'd ever received in any of the hay I'd ordered previously. And of course, as usual, my pigs still love this hay as well, so I will keep it. So, to sum everything up, would I recommend this brand? Sure, my piggles have loved every box of hay I've received from small pet select, but keep in mind, the quality may vary some from box to box.

Favorite hay
My guinea pigs' favorite hay. The most seed heads and relatively low dust. It arrives quickly and is fresh.

Best hay ever
This brand is far superior to my old brand. The hay is so much nicer, it’s fresh, it’s not smashed, it smells good and it has all the fluffy parts intact that are my bunny’s favorite.

Extremely dusty! :( quality has gone downhill! 2 order was so much better!
This hay is way too dusty! All three of my guinea pigs got an upper respiratory infection that took over a month to Cure and cost me $800 in Vet bills!! I’m so mad! And unfortunately, I had to go back to a different company with smaller bags which cost more but have less dust! My guinea pigs love the first cutting mixed with third! The seed pods are their favorite!! it’s unfortunate. This company is not keeping up with dedusting like they should be! I seriously hope they try better to get all that dust out. It’s just too much and I’m not willing to kill my guinea pigs the same few dollars! UPDATE : I decided to try them again and it’s much better! I buy the 10lb box of 1st cutting Timothy hay and meadow hay and that’s a lot to waste if it’s not good and this time it was great! Fresh and mostly dust free! I’m so happy!

Small pet select Timothy hay (1st cut
This 1st cut Timothy hay is a really good option if you’re looking for something high in fibre to support your pet’s digestion and dental health. It has a coarser texture with more stems and seed heads, which is great for keeping teeth worn down and encouraging natural chewing. It also smells fresh and natural, which definitely helps with getting pets interested in eating it.That said, it’s not the softest hay, so fussier pets or smaller animals might pick around the thicker pieces. There can also be some variation between boxes since it’s a natural product. Overall though, it’s a solid quality hay—especially suited for rabbits or guinea pigs that benefit from a higher fibre diet rather than softer cuts.

Ottimo Fieno!
Primo pacco finito.
