Permatex High Tack Gasket Sealant is a fast-drying all-purpose sealant that dries to a highly tacky, non-brittle film. This sealant is a reliable general adhesive and resists gasoline, oil, antifreeze, axle lube, kerosene, propane and butane. It remains effective at temperatures of -65 degrees Fahrenheit to 500 degrees Fahrenheit. When a chemical gasket is not an option, Permatex offers a wide range of gasket sealants suitable for applications on both import and domestic vehicles of any model year or performance caliber.

Now I how to get it off at least.
Used for my motorcycle crankcase gasket. Finished up and accidentally spilled all of it on my garage floor. 🤦Degreaser does a good job of dissolving it and it worked perfectly for the gasket.

A perfect fit
Does what it's supposed to do.

Too expensive
For the price the container should be bigger and have more product. Make sure you put the lid on tight. It will seep out if it gets tipped over.

Not sure how I've been so long in the repair business and never used this stuff.
works fantastic when working small engines with multiple gaskets and spacers. Just like the product is called "high tack" and it is tacky stuff.

Review of 4 sealants
With ALL the gasket sealers claiming they are the best (Go figure), I decided to do a test of the most popular 4 sealants that include: Gasgacinch 440-A, Permatex High Tack 80062, Permatex Black Silicone 81158, and Permatex Ultra Grey 82194. ADHESION: Best are 440-A and 81158. Medium is 80062, and worst with almost no adhesion is 82194. SEALING: Best is 81158. Medium are 80062 and 82194. Worst is 440-A. The results I came to (My opinion) If you are dealing with new contact surfaces, then the 440-A, 80062, and 81158 will do, with the last two coming out with a better seal, and the 440-A used to adhere gasket only with very little seal capability. As far as sealing, my favorite for over 50 years, is just plain old silicone which is the 81158 which comes up the over all winner, and may surprise some people, but not me. So, the results in my opinion are: 1st place 81158. 2nd place 80062. Last place 440-A (no seal) and 82194 (no adhesion). As an added note, the 80062 is the ONLY sealant that did not set up after three days, and is still sticky to the touch.
