Bought to replace my old battery and paid less than what auto stores and Walmart charge for lower brand equivalents. An additional BIG plus is free delivery to your door and no need for core exchange. Installed in my car, perfect fit and CCA. Delco is always a fail safe alternative.

The main issue I have is the handling of the package by the Amazon delivery person. The battery alone weighs around 53lbs., and care needs to be taken when moving it. After reading other reviews, I was concerned about the delivery and chatted with two different Amazon support people about having the box pointing "this end up". The package had two sides with red arrow stickers pointing up to indicate how the box should be facing. I also left delivery instructions in the order about this. However, the delivery person did not pay attention to any of this and put the box sideways. Luckily, a family member got the box right after delivery and put it the correct way. I did call Amazon to tell them about this issue, and I hope that someone finally does something to prevent it from occurring again. The box the battery came in is thick cardboard. There were styrofoam sheets on each side and a lot of bubble wrap to cover up and fill the remaining area. The styrofoam sheets were somewhat crushed because of the box mishandling and who knows what else, and there were styrofoam bits everywhere, which I had to get a vacuum with a hose out to clean up. The battery itself seemed in good condition with no noticeable leaking or damage. I checked the battery charge, and it was 12.6 volts. The battery was brand new, and the manufacture date was the same month I ordered the battery. The price for the battery was the best I saw online, and I did not have to ship my old battery back. I took my old battery to an auto parts store, and they gave me $10 store credit even though I did not buy the battery there. It is probably better to order the battery when the temperature is not really hot or really cold outside. Also, do not wait until your battery dies before replacing it. If your battery is more than a few years old and you see the charge on your old battery when not in use is only around 11.6 volts, it would be a good idea to replace it before you get stuck with a dead battery in your car. If your battery is placed in an area of your car that requires a vent hose, this battery has 2 vent holes and comes with 1 plug (attached to the red cover piece for the positive terminal) for the unused vent hole. It does not come with a vent hose or elbow, and you should just use the parts that were on the battery you are removing. Excluding the delivery issue, I would recommend ordering this battery from Amazon.

I've never had problems with ACDelco batteries. Never. Even the ones considered "budget" batteries always had a great initial capacity, great quality and lifespan. My last 2 ACDelco Silver non AGM batteries lasted 6+years in my work van and family SUV. This Gold series AGM is no different. Great quality as usual. And it's made in Germany! It was delivered in a great, sturdy cardboard box with excellent spray foam protection. Even if it was dropped nothing would happen to it. I don't get why people are complaining about battery being "delivered upside-down". This is non spill battery! Nothing to complain about. One thing I definitely recommend before installation is charging. Doesn't matter what voltage you getting with your tester. Even if it's 13+ volts just put it on low amp(1.5-2A) charge overnight. You will thank me later. Slow initial charging to full capacity will greatly improve longevity and will ensure you get maximum from your investment. I'm speaking from personal experience. Never failed me.

I bought this AC Delco battery about a year ago, and it worked perfectly for the entire first year. Then it suddenly stopped charging and eventually refused to accept a charge at all. I've almost never had a good experience trying to get something replaced under warranty—especially not a 50-pound, $180 battery. So imagine my surprise! I emailed their warranty department and specifically asked to be contacted via email (I could have called for faster service, but it was freezing outside and I wasn't in a rush to deal with the car). By the end of the same day, I had a reply asking for details and my Amazon invoice. I sent those right away and was told I'd hear back within 3 business days. Yeah, right, I thought. To my amazement, the very next morning I received an email from FedEx saying a replacement battery was already being shipped directly from their warranty department. That's seriously impressive customer service. I'll definitely be buying all my future batteries from AC Delco!
