Team Avatar is in peril as a dangerously powerful ancient spirit awakens with vengeance and destruction on its mind. Bonds will be tested and new truths revealed as Aang must answer an important question: Can humans and spirits co-exist?! Written and drawn by the team behind the best-selling The Promise and The Search , Gene Luen Yang and Gurihiru, in collaboration with Avatar: The Last Airbender and Legend of Korra animated televison show creators Michael Dante DiMartino and Bryan Konietzko, this is the ultimate continuation of Avatar and the perfect companion to Legend of Korra ! Review: The Old and The New Can Work Out! - I said five stars cause of the great story telling, great character growth. Especially Aang and Toph because their both very different characters. Yet they learn from each other, they still remaining friends and not enemies. It teaches the reader that we need all kinds of kinds people things activities and so forth. This story also makes it clear to the reader why they made The Promise and The search! When I look back at those stories I feelt The Promise was about certain change and looking forward to New things in the future with different race living together. The Search was about certain things staying the same and excepting it. Like Zuko staying firelord and Ozai still being Zuko's biological father. It make sense why they keep mentioning the past and the future in this book! Genius!!! All I can say is that we need more fight scenes and maybe better villains in the next story of Last Airbender but other then that keep up the good work. Review: Great and very enjoyable - Love the spirits, toph, avatar yangchen, and the original characters. Definitely read The Rift. I really enjoyed the parts of this that set up things that we see in the Legend of Korra universe too.

Go toph
Toph is badass.i mean see saved people from a mine calapase.again there are sweet kataang parts but still the focus is on toph and how awesome she is.Her dad though is seriously an idiot at first but he becomes better. But the storytelling in this is amazing I mean I want to shake the writers and illustratorโs hand for this I love it.And the part about aangโs history is good too.(this is again a review of all the rift pars)

These comics pretty much continue the story after the show ended
These Avatar comic books are most-haves for die hard avatar fans such as myself. These comics pretty much continue the story after the show ended. Although it is not the same as watching the show, it is still much fun to read. I love how the comics stay true to the show's formula and one way they do this is by showing the fans Aang's interactions with his previous incarnations which is something that I deeply love about the show. Specifically in the The Rift, we learn more Avatar Yangchen and it is very much satisfying to see storytelling about avatars rarely mentioned in the show.

Amazing comic
This is the newest addition to the series of avatar comics, and follows the same formatting as the others. The book is hardback and has quite a bit of weight to it compared to other books. The cover has vibrant colors, as do all of the pages contained in it. The only difference between this version of the comics and the individual volumes is that this contains all three volumes of Smoke and Shadow, has bigger pages, concept art, and notes from the creators in the margins of the pages. For the price, you would be losing money if you bought all the volumes individually, so I highly recommend getting this edition. As for the story, it's no worse than the other avatar comics. It's not better either, but maintains the same level of quality that you would expect from the avatar universe. The plot features Zuko as the main character, as does 2/3 of the other comic series, which can be disappointing if you're expecting much from other characters. The only plus to this is that Zuko's supporting characters are incredibly interesting, and the lore of the fire nation doubly so. Overall, this is an amazing book and I will continue to look forward to purchasing future avatar series comics.

Great!
A well written comic series. I was a bit bummed that they covered basically the same moral (that change is a good thing) as they did with The Promise. Overall I was very pleased with it, however it was not as exciting or as dramatic as The Search. This comic doesn't have as much Lore building as the previous two series do as well, The Search and The Promise are both very important in the Avatar world, however this one is just more of a fun read.
