Highly recommended, as long as I don't cave and buy ...
This is our first and (due to space) hopefully only Thomas trainset. We had bought it for a little boy, but ended up gifting it to our daughter who is almost turning 2. And she LOVES it! It has a lot of elements: puzzle (where do the bones go?), physics (what makes the train slide down?), and make believe. It does make noises (batteries included), but not too loudly. Highly recommended, as long as I don't cave and buy more sets.

makes sounds when you lift the lever and my sons love it, they would not go to bed if ...
Both of my sons (age 2.5 and 3.5) are "Thomas the train" fan and I was looking for a track set they could drive their Thomas trains on, looking at the one's we had they were the take n' play version so I looked for tracks. In my search most of the sets were pieces you attach to other sets and didn't really do much, for the price I just wasn't impressed. As we haven't seen the movie yet for this track set that didn't matter. Then I came across this one and decided to try it. The dinosaur is neat, makes sounds when you lift the lever and my sons love it, they would not go to bed if I let them stay up. The bones are easy for them to load, but you can only load one into Thomas's cart at a time, and easy to put back on the dinosaur wall. Fun and interactive and more track for your buck this was a winner for us, the whole family enjoyed it. Here is a video of them playing the set! [...]

we are very pleased with the standard of quality of this particular Thomas ...
Fisher-Price Thomas the Train Take-N-Play Roarin' Dino Run arrived as promised quickly and wrapped securely from the shipper. My husband was able to quickly assemble this and our grandson absolutely adores playing with it. Please note he is rather gentle with his toys at this point, so we have not had any issues with breakage or the toy coming apart. If this had been his uncle at the same age (thirty-five years ago) playing with the same exact toy,NOW that would have been a true test of toy durability! Thus far, however, we are very pleased with the standard of quality of this particular Thomas the Train Take-N-Play unit. I will update this review should problems occur with the product at a later date. .

Fun toy for any little Thomas fan.. not so much for the parents. =(
I bought this playset for my 22 month old son and 3 1/2 year old daughter who are both Thomas the Train fans. It's a fun toy as they both enjoy pushing around their little diecast trains which they have both Thomas the Train characters and Chugginton characters (both fit) on the tracks. There are cool dinosaur roaring and stomping sound effects that (thank goodness) are not that annoying to listen to as the kids play with it and my daughter likes fitting the bone pieces to the bigger dinosaur skeleton on the back side of the playset. The biggest downside to this set are trying to keep track of those three little bone fragments and that the dinosaur arms continue to fall off every time my kids play with it. So I'm constantly tracking down and picking up plastic dinosaur bones a few times a day. Not fun for me but my kids are enjoying it so 4 stars...

a win for train and dino crazy toddler
My three year old got this for his birthday and loves it. It helps that he had watched Tale of the Brave the day before. I don't think the play is limited at all. Thomas goes down the ramp while the dinosaur lifts its head and roars. Then, thomas hits a gate at the tunnel entrance and that triggers fossil bones to fall out of the clay mountainside. Thomas takes the bones in his cargo cart through the tunnel to the other side of the set and the bones snap into place to complete the dino skeleton. We experimented with other trains and Gordon goes down the mountain with enough momentum to get himself to the tunnel gate without extra help.

Don't buy this toy!
Honestly one of the worsts toys I have ever purchased. My son attempted to use it for about an hour. It has sat and not been used in 5 months. Total waste. It falls apart, the dinosaur arms fall off when you use it and the train doesn't "load up" like it's supposed to. Real waste.
