What a fun variation on traditional Apples to Apples
What a fun variation on traditional Apples to Apples! My husband, friends, family, and I have long loved the regular version of A2A, but now we want to introduce our five-year-old to games, and this seemed like the perfect start. The green cards with the adjectives on them are a wonderful way to introduce new vocabulary in a fun way so it doesn't even feel like learning. (Because, after all, the purpose of the game is to have fun, right?) The pictures on the cards are colorful and entertaining, and there are a few that kids consider just scandalous enough to be hilarious. (For example, there's one with a little boy on the potty. Only the thighs and legs are exposed, so there's no REAL nudity, but it's clear what's going on.)I also played this with my second-through-sixth-grade creative writing students on the last day before Christmas break, since I wanted something word-related and educational but still entertaining. I thought it would earn me a half hour. They lasted well over 1 1/2 hours, and when they bell rang they were SO disappointed. It was perfect for a large age range, and the kids really bonded, which was so fun to watch. (It was only our fourth session together, and with such a large age gap many of the kids hadn't met before the trimester began, so they were quite separate before the game.)Now that Christmas is almost here we will have family coming into town. I can't wait to play this with everyone, from our daughter to our daughter's grandparents.P.S. For those used to the grown-up version, the main differences here are that the green cards have two adjectives on them so the judge gets to decide which one to use, the red noun/name cards have colorful -- and varied -- photographs instead of words or names, and the words and photos are PG.

Even my 3 year old daughter could play! I laughed so hard I cried.
I purchased both this and the Apples to Apples junior after my 7 year old and his two 7 year old friends joined their parents in a surprisingly successful game of the original Apples to Apples. My 7 year old has had no trouble with the Junior version and I have preferred that as I was skeptical that the picture version would be as funny and fun to play. Boy was I wrong. This version of the game still made me laugh so hard I cried. We played this version with the same kids as in the original apples to apples game, their parents...and my three (almost four) year old daughter. Everyone was able to play. It took my daughter about three rounds to understand the game and some reminders and prompting but she was able to play this version with the big kids and adults and even win a few green cards. I would recommend this version to young and old. Pictures really are worth 1000 words.

The best game that is just as fun and entertaining to 3 - 90 year olds!
This is the best family game and nearly every kids favorite. This is my 5th purchase as visiting friends and family enjoy it so much it is a go to birthday gift. This version is my favorite because1. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Some of the pictures are hilarious and invoke laughter at the mere sight.2. It is a game that younger kids who can’t read yet can play without any handicap. My youngest 4 year old somehow wins more than anyone.3. It teaches and increases the kids vocabulary.4. It’s fun and keeps everyone laughing. Isn’t that the point of family game night?

Fun change from the original and great for including kids who don't read
This is a nice take off on the apples to apples concept. I like that it's doable for non-readers which means little kids can be fully included in family games. We played over Christmas with 4, 5 and 6 year olds with no problems. There's also a nice variety of picture cards although I'd like a few more on the basic or funny side and to reduce the number of weird and/or creepy cards. (None are hugely offensive or inappropriate, just toward the yuck side.) I'd still rather play the original, but this one is a nice change of pace and very inclusive.

So I love this game I have four nephews 7 and under and they love to play it too. It works great for the kids that don't know how to read yet or don't understand what many of the words mean yet. and the green cards give you a choice of two words to choose from which the kids think is great that they get to choose which one... or if you dont want to explain what a word means or the child doesn't quite grasp it there is a second choice right there. I have also played it with my adult friends and we all had a blast (we are all in our 30's). Its a great icebreaker get to know you game too the cards are fun and some are just absurd it makes for a fun time.

They like it a lot
We bought this for the kids. They like it a lot. But the box is a bit bulkier than I enjoy. I feel like there should be a more space effective way to store the cards. Probably no one will notice. And I did have to sort through the cards and remove a few I didn't think were quite appropriate for the kids--if you buy it for kids, I would suggest doing that. I like that this is interchangeable with other Apples to Apples cards.

Great game! We play very often and my 4 year old likes coming up with funny stories to match the pictures as well. I had read in one review before buying about so provocative pictures and was a little concerned since it was a gift for my 8 year old, but I have yet to see anything worrisome and we just about through all of them. If I come across 1 I'll just remove it.

Tons of laughter!
A fun new twist on one of the best party games ever. My older granddaughters love the original Apples to Apples game, but the younger ones struggle with reading all of the words. This one uses appealing pictures and they only have to read the words on their individual cards.Apples to Apples generates tons of laughter when played in a group. It does not work for just 2-3 players however.

A fun easy game
Easy to learn, easy to play, loads of laughter. The best part of the game for me is the psychological games. I love the psych out my opponents by babbling on about how the cards played either fit or don't fit the match card. Am I putting down my own card to trick you? Maybe I am, maybe not. Am I bolstering someone else's card so you think you would be picking mine cause you want me to lose? Maybe I am, maybe not. Am I laughing and having a good time just like my fellow players? YES! Definitely!

9 year old loves this game
This is my 9 year old daughter’s favourite game. Good clean fun. We got this one for her when some inappropriate and advanced words were in the regular Apples to Apples that she had received as a gift.
