We used these on a cooler in a common public area. This really isn’t a lock, it can be removed with an hex wrench. It is useful in our situation because the cooler is used as a reserve for the main cooler. We want people to use the unlocked cooler first, then we reload it with warm soda for cooling and switch the lock over to keep people from getting warm sodas. It just keeps the door from sliding open, it’s not really a security lock with a key. It would also work anywhere it may be placed on the inside, like in a house, where the hex lock cannot be accessed. It can be tightened to the point where it doesn’t slip, doesn’t slide when adequately tightened. Solid product for the right situation.

The frame of our sliding glass door bends when I installed this door lock for the track of our back door. Then I attempted to open the door and the device easily moved down the track and I was able to basically lift it off the track. This product did not meet my needs, I don't understand how this product has worked for others? Maybe they have a steel door frame? I will be returning this item. I bought for my two little kids to stop leaving into the backyard without me and the dog door we have prevents the normal door lock to be used, I like the idea of using a lock adaption instead of the typical rod in the tracks, since my kids can just pick it up. (Please excuse my dirty door track)

I have a child with autism who sometimes tries to get out of the house when I am not looking. To keep him safe from the second story balcony, I bought a complicated locking system which was so hard to install, I gave up and got this. It works great because it's just a key and a little box. It's sturdy and you don't have to put screw holes in your door. I wish I had found this one first.

This is definitely a very good, unobtrusive way to childproof a sliding door. My main issue is the silicone that came around the metal parts that adjust to lock does not stay on. At first, I wasn't sure if it was just packaged that way for shipping, but it can scrape up the door without so this should be affixed in my opinion.

I didn't have a whole lot of faith in this, but decided to give it a try. Super easy to install, very sturdy, love that it takes a key, and holds tightly! I'd buy more if I need them and I would recommend this to anyone. I use it on our sliding glass door. Just inserted in the track (after rotating the key to get the correct width), tightened up, and voila! No more sneaking out teen!! ;) It also makes me feel extra safe. The door had a lift lock, but I never felt truly comfortable with just that. Always kept a bar in the track, just in case. Now I don't need the bar. This little lock is perfect!!

If you have older sliding windows this might work better, on the newer windows, not so well. I have other to help with this one. Just wasn't impressed. If you find the cheaper ones and you have newer windows, I would suggest the cheaper ones.

My older two became houdinis suddenly. They figured out how to turn down our alarm system so I couldn’t hear them opening the sliding door to go on adventures 🤦🏻‍♀️ (5 and 6). Started putting this on the door after we got it and they stopped with their disappearing acts! Installed it and took the ‘key’ to bed with me so they couldn’t get it and that thing fits so snug they couldn’t make it budge! Finally started being able to sleep better knowing my little Huckleberry Finn and Tom Sawyer couldn’t get out of the house at least 🤣 made me wish my front door was a slider so it was easier to child proof that thing too!!

Piece of junk, Key doesnt work, doesnt turn falls out and doesnt tighten. Packaging looks ancient, its been around for a long time. I would consider it defective or poorly engineered. Retuning immediately.

J’ai un petit chien très malin qui ouvre les portes vitées donc avec ce bloque porte je suis tranquille car il est vraiment efficace …. en d’autres occasions .. je peu même laissé ma porte entre bailler pendant ma sieste, personne ne peux ouvrir ma porte fenêtre coulissante donc un bon repos rassurant et reposant avec un peu d’air frais dans la maison

Bien el producto pero no funciono bien en mis ventanas porque la apertura del mismo para apretar contra los soportes de la venta era muy pequeño

Excelente. Se adapta de maravilla y es muy práctico a parte de seguro. Muy recomendable.
