I just finished this book. Wow, just great stories. Absolute "newbie" to Turkey hunting so some of the lingo was a bit cryptic. I'm resourceful so, I looked else where around for more details on some things. Several tactics where explained in the later part of the book. The terrain that I hunt seems quite similar to the Hills he defines in the Ozarks. I'm up against 300' plus steep ravines here in North Georgia.I believe you will like his view on tactics and approach. You may find it a bit repetitive and slightly head-strong. Take and objective point of view; it's Rays point , not all set in stone. It makes for good reading .

Great read!
I have been reading a lot about the wild turkey lately since I have recently become addicted to hunting them. This book was very informative as well a genuine pleasure to read. Ray really knows turkey hunting and it is fortunate that he is very willing and able to share his knowledge with the hunting public.

a book worth reading
This book open my eyes to new stategies and ways to approach each spring season. Most hunting books don't go thru the steps that this author does, that show you how to be successful. This book is educational and entertaining. If you are just starting out or a seasoned turkey hunter this book is worth reading.

My husband loves anything Ray Eye. He's a hunter not a computer guy so I'll submit for him (plus I'll admit I've read a little of the book). Ray knows his stuff and mixes it with some storytelling. A good way to get older kids interested and/or to teach the sport.

I thank Ray Eye for sharing his knowledge of the wild turkey and especially the awareness of the peck order that has allowed me to fill my three Illinois spring tags on a consistent basis.

Just like the Bible it's full of stories.
Here's everything you need to know about this book, summarized into a few timely bullet points:-Call aggressively, then call some more! Seriously. It doesn't matter what time of season or year, just call your f***ing head off!-To find turkeys call to them-Once you find turkeys by calling your d*** off simply roost them evening before you plan on hunting them-Shoot them when they fly down from their roost-That's it!Maybe it is that simple, but as a novice turkey hunter I was hoping for a little more practical information on turkey hunting: how to scout for turkey, preferred habitat, diet, seasonal behavior. Sure, you can glean some nuggets of wisdom from the mountain of tales present in this book, but after a few chapters of another, "After roosting turkeys the evening before, I set up tight on the roost and called my a** off and blasted a Tom" story I was bored to tears. This book is less a practical turkey hunting guide and really just a pedestal for Ray Eye to spin some turkey hunting yarns. And just like the Bible it's loaded with stories. Except it's somewhat devoid of higher moral purpose. If you like stories then by all means, read up. But in the mean time I'll keep looking for a real 'turkey hunting bible'.
