SOLARAY HCL with Pepsin - Digestive Support - 250 MG (180 Capsules)

This stuff has changed my life in ways I didn't think were possible. I must have had horribly low stomach acid because whenever I take this pill I just have this feeling of calm and energy and focus. Before taking the pill I apparently had a relentless anxiety about me that I didn't know I had until it was gone. I think the anxiety was a biological response to undigested food in my system which my immune system decided it didn't like. I think all this because I have had dishydrotic eczema for 7 years now and within a week it was 99% reduced. My eczema has always been triggered by certain foods so I am guessing there were undigested parts that my immune system didn't like and now I am digesting more hence less stuff to trigger eczema. I'm going on 3 months now and my skin hasn't been this clear in well... 7 years! I feel like I eat less now because I am getting more nutrients from proper digestion and now I only poop once or twice a day where as I used to go 4-6 times. I just cant believe how much of a difference this stuff makes, I just feel so calm and normal! I didn't even know I didn't feel calm and normal until I took these pills and was reminded of what that feels like! Its amazing!! Baaahh!!!!!!

I'm forwarding this review for my brother (who I purchased this for): This stuff is amazing. I've been on Prilosec for the last 3 years because of bad reflux. I just didn't like being on Prilosec (I felt it was giving me rashes and other issues). I've tried many times to stop taking it but I couldn't last more than a few days as the reflux was unbearable. I've been taking the HCL with Pepsin now for about 2 months and stopped taking Prilosec about a week into taking the HCL. I can't believe how well it works for me. Some reviews say they need to take large doses but for me I only take one or two each meal (depending on what I'm eating). As of this writing - I am having NO reflux/heartburn issues at all. I really can't say enough about this stuff - I'm so happy it worked for me. Maybe it doesn't work for everyone, but give it a shot cause it works for me!

These have helped me with a constipation issue I have had for quite some time. However, I must take many more than the dosage listed on the bottle. I have been taking these since November 2012. About 3 weeks ago I decided that maybe a different brand might help so I ordered Douglas Laboratories Hydrochloride capsules. Taking the two in combination has decreased the amount I must take and has also helped with my issue tremendously more. Usually take 2 of the Solaray and 2 of the Douglas Labs with each meal. Works like a charm. So far.

I bought this but never tried it, and here's why: I just purchased the 650 mg Solaray HCL with Pepsin last night at Whole Foods. It says "250 Vegetarian capsules" on the front, and conveniently on the back it states "there are NO other ingredients listed than the ones here". At first glance, all looks well. Vegetarian capsules, vegetable cellulose, HCL and Pepsin, no problem. No other ingredients than the ones listed, fantastic. But after having a sneaking suspicion that something was off, I read all the fine print, where it says; "Pepsin is a digestive enzyme derived from porcine". Porcine, folks = pigs. Totally misleading, sneaky, conniving advertising. If for whatever reason you don't want to put pig parts in you body, watch out for this product.

This product works well. I attribute this to the extra ingredients like pepsin, papaya leaf and glutamic acid. I find that HCL on its own is not very effective at helping with my digestion, it definitely needs the pepsin in a decent amount, like this product. But I also notice that this HCL product works better than any of the several others I have tried so perhaps the other ingredients are responsible for that. And the best part, if I forget to take and start to feel discomfort I can still take it and it will work.

I wish I could tell everyone that has indigestion, particularly at night, that antacids are NOT the solution. I was taking 3000 mg of Tums and 2 Zantacs at night to deal with my stomach problems and literally, instantly, after taking these I went to 0 mg of Tums and no Zantacs. My problem and probably yours too is a LACK of acid or HCL as it is called. It's not that this particular brand of HCL is any better than others(these work fine), it's just that HCL in general is the cure. If more people knew this the antacid trade would fade away. Taking all this excess calcium is damaging to your body in a number of ways...look them up.

If you suffer from bloating prior to eating, you definitely need to supplement your diet with HCL, it works like a charm! I really like Solaray too, they are known for their quality products. If you're battling between this brand and another, definitely stick with this one!
