Servo works well for operating a valve
I bought two of the servos to operate faucet valves-- turning them on/off. They work as advertised and they get the job done.I am using a microcontroller, so I am custom-crafting the pulse widths to the manufacturer specs. I am finding that I can use pulses wider than the specs (1250 us - 1950 us pulse widths) to position the servo and they work just fine without chattering. Beyond that range, they chatter (but that's asking too much of them anyway). In short, they work as expected and they both perform equally well. They work great when supplied with a power voltage range of 5V - 6V.... more torque @ 6V. However, the white signal line I keep at 5V TTL levels. I drive the signal line directly with the microcontroller and it works great regardless of the torque load on the servo. It seems that only the current in the power/ground goes up during high torque, not the the current in the white signal line... makes it very nice.Another nice feature of these servos: Once I position them with my signal line, I just stop driving the signal line (take it to 0V) and the servo just sort of relaxes. That means I don't have to continuously provide a stream of position information to every servo I'm trying to drive. I simply drive them one at a time... move them where I want them, and move on to the next one. That might work for some applications and not for others.

Excellent budget option
Great if you don't need super high speed or torque. Very reliable, from a trusted brand. For the price it's excellent. I installed it as a steering servo in a Kyosho Tomahawk 1/10 scale RC car, and it's worked flawlessly for three months of frequent, heavy offroad usage. Yes, it's is slow when you compare it to expensive servos ($50 - $100 or more), but high speed can be unnecessary and can even make a car harder to control, especially for beginners. I may upgrade to a faster servo now that my driving has improved, but not because I've noticed any issue with this servo. I just have other cars with faster servos and I'm adjusting to quicker steering response.

The 4 star rating because I would like to see a little more power
Bought this servo for the kid for his Lunchbox rc build. It does the job, a little loud, but what servo isn't. This servo has been on many rc builds, including a wooden rc boat build, that took on water. The servo didn't get on water damage to my surprise. The 4 star rating because I would like to see a little more power.

Good quality servo for the very price
Good quality servo for the very price, Futuba is a good name and a long history of great components. This is a Standard grade servo nothing short of excellent and seems universal for most Tamiya cars. Comes with all the parts to customize your servo application, tie rods and nylon ball joint connectors, also a basic servo saver assembly. I am very satisfied with mine. Id recommend for general operational applications, there may be stronger servos for competitive applications, although this one may withstand much. For my casual needs, steering my rc car on lazy weekends I am very satisfied with its wonderfully responsive function. I do recommend.

S3003 Power, Price, Performance
It's more than a toy. This servo motor does the job. The Futaba S3003 standard size servo motor has good speed and torque (60 degrees in .23 sec and 44.4 oz-in at 4.8v according to the box, more at higher voltage). It moves 180 degrees back and forth based upon the pulse width signal.I drive it using an inexpensive Arduino Uno computer without a separate motor shield. Internet examples of code and descriptions of how it works provided me with a solid starting point and an understanding of how servos work. This servo seems to be ideal for animatronics, experimental projects, and just plain fun.

Good/cheap device to understand how to work with servos
Decent servo works as described. I would go for a metal gear servo the next time though since this cannot handle very heavy load. However, it does handle the load as is described on the package.
