Great set of quality mid-level brushes
di vinci brushes are generally expensive but worth the price I found his pack of college level brushes that are very durable and they were on sale normally they are between $25 and $35 for the set but they were only $15 and I bought 2 sets I have had another set for over a year and I love it. I use them over some of my more expensive brushes and they are for acrylic or oil paint but I use them for Acrylic and they work great. For most of the work I do I dont really need any other brushes very much. I do use a larger wash-brush to quickly block in colors then I go to town with this versatile set of brushes. They are synthetic with just the right abount of stiffness, but they have a soft touch and a long handle. I will admit I need a stiffer bristle sometimes, but most of the time these brushes are my main go to brush, for right now, but it really depends on the project. I have yet to try them wth oil but I feel like I would want a more stiffer bristle for oil. I recommend these brushes for anyone at any level of painting.follow this link to order - https://amzn.to/3JMIuvy

The BMW of brushes
I have seen fit to give this product from Da Vinci, the Maestro 2 hog bristles, a 5 star rating. The rating reflects the price+value+performance. Unfortunately I see the price has risen 6 dollars since my order from 7 days ago so guess you'll be spending a bit more for same, but here is the rub...I would easily have spent the 6 more to get these 5 brushes. Go checkout other makes and see/feel how the ferrule is made of superior steel, see/feel that beautifully painted and lacquered, real wood handle. These bristles are not very firm so keep that in mind if you want to paint impasto go with the plein air brushes or perhaps the original Maestro. The bristles on the M2 is soft, holds a nice edge/shape and holds up to cleaning without flaying out etc. I am a fan of most Da Vinci products as they are German foactory made and if you know a bit about brushes you know that the best ones are made in European factories, by trained and practiced brush makers. The Maestro 2 is not a hand made, interlocked brush, it has been made 50/50 hand/machine(as best I can determine) as to keep the prices down a bit but if you look around they are still not on the cheap end, this 5 set just happens to be priced low for introduction to the line. One could visit Michael's/AC Moore and spend 20$ on a Grumbacher set of 3 or near 40$ for a W&N set of five...don't waste the time, buy these and get far superior quality and performance for a far better price. As an added bonus if you paint outside these are so cool looking people will probably think you are a great artist using 100's of dollars worth of brushes! One note however, with brushes made thousands a day there are always some clunkers that slip through, a brush line isn't bad just because you get a bad one. These are quality, artist grade brushes, if you get a bad one in the mix return it. I assure you overall these are worth the money. My set has no imperfections etc. Just a not on buying brushes.

Love the softness, how they keep shape, precision.

fantastic, but…
i would have given a 5 star rating, except they lose their shape rather quickly. i almost prefer the synthetic ones better, but i really like the texture and stiffness you get with these.

soft and springy!
These are excellent brushes! Great spring, but still soft like a watercolor brush. I like these better than some of my kolinsky brushes because they keep their shape better after first wash. The only (small) complaint I have is that some of the hairs came out onto my painting. But for me I expect that with student grade brushes. Love these!

Beautiful brush strokes
These brushes are doing great. They're maintaining their shape even after multiple uses (with acrylic paint). I'm making sure to maintain upkeep of them because they're good. The handles feel nice in my hands. I really enjoy them.

Very Disappointing
Wanted try this highly recommended brand and compare to my W&N. Not good especially the flat brush. Compared to a less expensive Fiji and the Fuji was much better. Tough finish
