This does not work! Is it the voltage that has been converted to the US and not UK
I really need this product. It has been bought from Germany and sent via the US which is the only way I can do this. I am really unhappy that it isn't working. It had very good reviews and is exactly what I am looking for.

Great unit - cleans & humidifies the air VENTA LW 25 - Great for sinus issues
I've had the Venta LW25 for about 2.5 years now. It has been trouble free and works well humidifying the air and cleaning the air. You need to add the Venta water treatment, once every two weeks when you clean the unit. I simply "rinse" it out and use a paper towel or cloth to wipe it out. Once a season I use the Venta cleaner. It is a bit tough to remove mineral deposits, but otherwise it is very easy to fill, use, rinse. When you clean it after two weeks you can see the sludge in the bottom of the tank of debris it has pulled out of the air. For my house, which is forced hot air, a full tank usually lasts 40-48 hours unless it is extremely cold, then it lasts 24-36 hours. (other types noted below, even with larger tanks would be a max of 24 hours). We usually leave ours on the medium fan speed and it is a nice background noise. If it is really cold or if the unit ran out of water for a while, we use the high speed which still isn't too bad. I've used boiling water (dangerous & energy hog), cold air filter types (filters grow mold in a matter of weeks), and ultrasonic for years.I've been using various types of humidifiers for years (20-30 years) due to sinus and/or winter allergies. If I don't use a humidifier in winter, I also get bloody noses, which I haven't had since I've been using this unit, so that is a good sign that it is humidifying the air. I got tired of trying to clean the boiling water types and the energy bills. Looking at the cold air filter type, It can't be good to spread mold around the house and cleaning it was also troublesome and replacement filters are costly regardless of the brand. As for ultrasonic, they worked the best of the other three BUT they ruined several pieces of furniture and some wood flooring from their "white dust" mineral laden output. Granted the water in my area is mineral laden but I can't do much about that. I also found it to be a pain to clean it weekly, very tough to get into all the nooks in cranny's of the brands I've had. Of the three styles, I liked the Ultrasonic the most, but I can't live with the damage they have done. As for the Venta - it is much easier to refill, I use a pitcher, easier to clean than any of the other styles, and I have to fill it less often because the tank holds more water. Unlike other types, it automatically shuts off when it is out of water.YES it is more expensive than a lot of other humidifiers on the market, but in the end both my wife and I are very happy with the unit. Also, worth considering is there are no filters to replace, so if you do the calculations over a few seasons, the VENTA starts to look pretty competitive. You need to purchase the water treatment, which a bottle lasts most of the season, and the cleaner solution for use once or twice a season. For a season, these both cost less than one set of filters which typically last 2-4 weeks. The cold air filter type humidifiers are kinda like the Razor blade business, they often give a away or sell the handles cheaply, but they get you with the replacement heads (filters). All in all a great unit. Good size water tank for extended use, no filters to replace, comparably easy to clean. Obviously I'm a fan of the VENTA 25 units. I recently purchased the larger VENTA 45 for the living room!

The best humidifier ever
I cannot believe how good this humidifier is. I had a central humidifier installed many years ago which died, so, as I could not find another one with good reviews, I tried this one. With my old humidifier I couldn't get more than 40% humidity at the living room (the rest of the house was far worse). This one keeps minimum of 45% at the minimum speed. I'll spend a lot less electricity because there is no heater and 20 times less water.I'll buy another one for the upper level.I definitely recommend this product.

Very effective, quiet, easy to use...and no expensive filters.
Venta mentions that it may take a week or more for the humidity to reach a comfort level after initial set up. This is true because the wood furniture, drapes, carpet, etc. are also dry and are, at first, drinking up the moisture that the humidifier is putting out. It works well and noise isn’t detectable unless it’s on the highest of it’s three speeds. On high speed, the noise is more like soft white noise...it’s negligible. So easy to refill from the top. On speeds one and two, the water lasts 24 hours, give or take. I just top it off every morning because that takes just seconds....and that way I won’t forget. Besides, Venta states that the unit functions at its best when filled to capacity. Super easy to clean and no expensive filters to buy...or to wash. Online research always points to the evaporative type of humidifier as the most desirable and that’s what this unit is. Venta is a top choice for owners of fine concert pianos who don’t want wood shrinkage and other problems caused by low humidity...which damages the instrument and affects the quality of the piano’s tonality. I chose a four star rating because of the price, but it all probably evens out since there are no expensive filters to buy that have to be frequently replaced. And those dirty filters have to be washed between replacements. I am totally pleased with this unit. It’s highly effective, simple to use, quiet and an easy keeper.

Venta works when others didn't; all around great performer
Finally found a product that delivers on its humidifying and "dustless/white residueless" claims. We bought three of these for separate bedrooms (+4200 sq. ft. home) heated via a two-zone gas forced hot air system. We've had them running for over a month and feel that we are now qualified to render a credible review.Over the years we've tried several highly rated and relatively expensive humidifiers (and many not so expensive). We even installed a whole house version. But none met our needs because each: 1) left a fine white residue throughout the house and bedrooms, 2) did not evenly humidify rooms, 3) left slightly damp spots on floors in rooms despite claims that they would not, 4) required far too frequent maintenance and in some cases maintenance was incredibly awkward and difficult to complete due to humidifier tank design. We never heard of Venta before, or its approach to humidifying, but felt that we were at the end of our rope and desperate enough to try anything in order to avoid another far-too-dry gas-heated-forced-air winter in our home.To cut to the chase, the Venta works as advertised. It doesn't "spray" a mist; it evaporates the water via a rotating cylinder; the tank is accessible and is as easy to refill and clean as an open sink; the cylinder is easy and quick to brush clean; there's NO white residue; rooms are EVENLY humidified and feel fresh when entered. We also bought and use Venta's water treatment solution. We have the black versions of the LW25 and it has a relatively small footprint that complements instead of detracts from our room decor. No shame in having these seen in a room. Could not say that about any of the other humidifiers we've bought and tried. The LW25 has three fan settings: #1 is inaudible, #2 is audible but in a minimal background sense, #3 is audible but not terribly so and in fact we like it for nighttime bedroom use because we discovered that it offers a "Goldilocks zone" of white noise which we discovered has worked to send us off into a deep and comfortable slumber. The most noticeable physical benefit has been waking up without nasal congestion, runny nose, etc. which has been a chronic issue for us over the years. That, in and of itself, is worth far more than the $270 we paid for each unit.In sum, the Venta LW25 is all we ever wanted and could ask for in a standalone room humidifier. YMMV but for us it's been one of those product purchases that not only has not disappointed but has exceeded expectations.

OK
- Air washing: 3/6, I almost don't see any dirt in water;- Humidifier: 4/6, it evaporates water 2 times slower than a heating humidifier;- Noise: 5/6, it's quiet for speeds 1 and 2, but speed 3 produces more noise which is not very good for dorms;- Price: 2/6, too expensive for such simple construction.
