I keep Diamond Kosher Salt in and use it to salt food while cooking. Use cheaper Kirkwood salt for pasta water, etc., bu tthe salt pot is great to pass at the table. Pretty and easy to use.

This is a nice looking and high quality salt box. The wood graining and color is beautiful. It is big enough to fit fat fingers for pinching the salt but small enough that it doesn't stand out or take up a lot of space. The swivel lid is a very nice feature and I find that I can open and close with just one hand. My only concern would be that the lid will stay attached over the long haul but after 3 months it is as solid as when it first arrived. I use it for the celtic sea salt that I use because it has a fairly high moisture content and doesn't work well in a shaker. I was just pinching out of a bag but that was a pain. Now that I have used this box, I prefer it over a shaker anyway. Highly recommend.

Live it. It’s the right size and the magnet to keep the lid in place is great. Attractive enough to put out for a formal dinner, which I did, and it got soaked with a heavy balsamic glaze drip. I didn’t notice it until much later but the sugary glaze lifted right off the wood as if the wood had been waxed and waterproofed! I’d buy it again and highly recommend it for the quality, craftsmanship and price! It’s very reasonable! PLUS, it survived the horrible packaging and shipping job that Amazon’s very own fulfillment center did.

I had a similar salt cellar in bamboo, but a guest in my kitchen couldn't figure out how to remove the lid, and tried to force it off vertically before I noticed what he was doing; the lid was always wobbly after that. I'm moving, so decided this is a good time to replace it. I chose this for the rich look of the acacia wood. It's a little smaller than the one it's replacing, but still large enough that it won't need refilling very often. I'm happy enough with it not to return it, but a little disappointed with the finish; it's not any less expensive than the one it replaced, but this one is not as well made as that one. While it's good the lid fits tightly, it scrapes a bit as it's swiveling open, and the edges are a little rough to the touch, especially inside. I wish it had been sanded a bit more finely before shipping. Also, there was a large scratch in the wood that may have happened during shipping, across the grain, so it's really noticeable. I'm going to try oiling the box to see if that helps. Overall, it's okay, but I absolutely would have returned it if it had been intended as a gift.

We're very happy with everything about this round, countertop salt container. We especially like that the swivel-top keeps other things (such as animal hair) from drifting into the container. A beautiful and useful buy.

I love new spices of all kinds. I recently discovered sea salt flakes. I keep the salt in this attractive wood container. It sits with my other natural wood salt/pepper containers and adds a flair to the counter. Easy to use, very well made, and beautiful. Highly recommend!
