Black sepia ink is produced by collecting the ink sack from squid producing farms (seafood farms) which are then dried and sterilized. Afterwards we filter out any impurities such as remaining parts from the squid and spray dry the black squid ink. This process is followed by sieving the final powder prior to packing the powder into our resealable Seagrapes24 aluminium doypacks and passing inspection.

Considering dried ink is much lighter, what size jar (90g, 500g etc) of liquid ink is this 50g package of dried ink equivalent to?

Since dried ink is 100% pure it depends on how much liquid (water for example) a manufacturer of liquid black squid ink uses. This varies from company to company. With this product at 1.76oz / 50g net weight you can easily add 5-10 parts water and still have a deeply black liquid that can be used to dye food. To answer your question: approx. 250-500g

Plan to use in a cocktail... Followup. Doesn't stay in suspension/dissolve when added to liquid?

Squid ink powder dissolves well in water when whisked, especially when warm. For cocktails I'd recommend whisking the squid ink powder with a little bit of warm water (similar to matcha), then adding it into the final drink.
