I sooo wanted to like this but .....
I bought this to complement my P20 Pro in the hope of a seamless fit, but sadly it is not very good.Looks wise - lovely.Battery pretty good, but no where near what they boast. With normal standby and low use, you will use about get about a week out of it, which to be fair is above average, however no where near the 14-21 days they boast (depending on the website you view)The initial set up was not that easy as it does not really tell you things like you need to authorise each app individually that you want notifications from, and does not lead you through the process. It does however have support pages on the health app, but sadly, the information on there is wrong/out of date. The screens it tells you to go to do not exist. That is using the latest firmware on both phone and band. The screen is nice and bright and the touch control good, however the font for messages is so small, even with my 20/20 vision,I struggled a little bit to read the messages, which is not good. You cannot customsie the font in any way. In fact you cannot really customise this at all. There is a choice of two screens and the date is in the MM/DD/day format (American I think) and there is no facility to change it to DD/MM/YY for example, so can be a little confusing and easy to get the date wrong. There is a weather icon on the screen however sadly it is constantly out of date, as it read 12 degrees as a scraped ice of my car one morning I realised. The push notifications do not always work, I was constantly having to unpair, clear the cache and pair it up again to get them to work - so basically you will easily miss calls and notifications if you are relying on it.Lastly the support. Very poor at best and I felt really let down. As i said, the in app support contains incorrect information. I emailed the support twice without any reply. I tried the live chat, they really did not have a clue, then when I gave them the serial number, the knee jerk reaction was - the product is from the USA and you don't have any European warranty - we cant help! (I pointed out it was from Amazon, where they get it from - who cares) It felt like a bit of a cop out really.Overall - what do you get over and above what you would get from from a similar non branded band at about a third of the price - nothing at all!!Sad really.Luckily I bought this from Amazon who are very reasonable when it comes to returns. I just hoped for so much better considering the price.

Slightly disappointed
I was really looking forward to having this fitness band. However the step counter on it is awful. I've got the fitbit charge 2 and it counts loads more steps and much more accurate. Even my huawei phone counts more steps. And the steps don't sync together on the health app it keeps them as two separate amounts. It does have some plus points I love that it's water proof, the straps so comfy you barely know it on your wrist. The battery life is fab lasts about 6 days. Sleep tracker works really well.

The best value in sleep tracking bar none
First, a little about me. While I do workout (lift weights 2x per week, do light yoga 5x per week, and do HIIT 2x per week), I have zero interest in wearing a device that tracks the intense details of all that. I have a habit tracker to track that I did aforementioned activities, but other than that, I can feel if I am getting a workout or not. I'm all set. And as for having a device on my wrist that tells me that the phone in my pants just received a text...I mean...come on! Frikkin useless. I don't get the "need" for all that redundancy. However, what really intrigues me about a health band is it's ability to track sleep in vivid technicolor detail....that's it....deep, light, and rem sleep...that's all I care about. I must admit that tracking steps is intriguing, having a device that is waterproof (cuz ya never know), being able to have the band also serve as a watch with date and time, being able to enter and track your weight, and I also do appreciate the reminder to get up off my ass if I have been sitting on it for over an hour...all good...but it's the detailed sleep tracking that hits the sweet spot for me. So all i want is something that works reliably, is comfy to wear, reasonably accurate, and has actual world-class customer support. And the Huawei crushed it on all of those levels. The sleep tracking was accurate and detailed. The app is very user-friendly and well-designed. All I do is keep the heart monitoring on and all the other features off (i.e. text notifications)...i mean who wants bluetooth on all day....i then wear the watch while I sleep and the next morning I click on the bluetooth thing, and in a matter of minutes, it syncs with my phone and sends all the sleep data to the app for detailed viewing. Beautiful. The accuracy was solid. I mean who knows...it's not EEG electrodes, but as an alternative to a sleep lab with guys in white coats watching you, it's the next best thing. And for around $50, you can't beat the value...The fitbit is all good but you are looking at $150 and much less battery strength. I would say that you need to make sure the band is reasonably tight....i'm a loose fit kind of guy, and it is clear that there were some wacky heart rate readings, but once i tightened up the band a notch, all was well. A little more background...before i bought the huawei band 3 pro, i bought the ouraring....first off, the oura is $300 ($250 with an easily found online coupon if you bother to search), and it took several months to ship. so there's that. now when i got the ring, it was awesome...tracked my sleep like a champ...but then, after only a week, for some frikkin reason, it stopped syncing with my phone...the bluetooth went all whack on me....so i went to the site to find out how to get tech support...well guess what...there is no tech support. no phone you can call...so i sent an email into the void and several weeks later (not 24hrs) i got a reply from olga...she was very friendly and all, but she had nothing to add other than the standard reboot garbage that 99% of all tech support relies on...so i just sent it back for a refund minus shipping charges of course...oura makes a great product (when it works), but when you charge $300 and have garbage for tech support infrastructure and you take months to ship your product...i don't know....office skills do matter...they really do..and huawei has better office skills. Also, when i bought the product, i had some issues figuring out how to get it started, so i called tech support, and got a professional knowledgeable dude who walked me through the process in a matter of minutes....he also took down my contact info (smart...now they can work on making me a loyal customer with a high lifetime value...as a marketer, i respect that)...without a doubt, if you are into sleep tracking, this is the best game in town.

Sleep Tracking is best feature
I received my band on 11/10/2018. Installed the Huawei Health app and it says that it needs to connect to mainland china servers in order to update the app... once that was completed, the band was listed in the app and had no problem syncing it to my Pixel 3. I have the Health app synced to Google Fit and seems to work, but something seems off. At the time of this writing, my band has 843 steps and the Huawei Health and Google Fit app have 1000. Assuming the unaccounted 157 are from my phone's sensors...so will need to figure out how to turn that off. Coming from a Gear S3, the notifications are almost useless to me. Screen is too small to get enough information on certain apps, so I turned it off.By far the best feature is the sleep tracking. As a new dad I like to make sure I'm getting enough sleep to at least function through the day. I thought my Gear S3 was good at tracking but this band is even better. I was only asleep for about 30 minutes the other night when my little one started crying. If this was my Gear S3 or my older Fitbit Charge Hr, it wouldn't have even logged in the 30 minute sleep. As for the other features; I haven't tested out the GPS yet and haven't gone swimming. I did however, keep the band on in the shower and seems like it would hold up just fine in the pool. Only noticed 2 watch faces that can be used. Hoping this is something that can be updated in the future.TLDR: If you are looking purely for a fitness band, this band is tough to beat at the price (GPS, Swimproof, Excellent Sleep Tracking, Lightweight). If you're looking for something that will act as a smartwatch and provide notification well, look somewhere else.

Fantastic tracker for open water swimming
I wasn't sure whether I'd like this tracker, but I'd read an online review about its functionality for open water swimming and I've been very impressed.Works well everytime, the bright display makes it very easy to use outdoors and the app is excellent. And such an amazing price, especially compared to the Fitbit I paid a lot more for which didn't work well for my needs at all.

great purchase
As my Fitbit Blaze battery failed to make it through a single day I dreaded that it was time for a new fitness watch. I did not want to shell out hundreds of dollars on something with a 1-2 year life span. I researched probably 20 different products and discovered the Huawei Pro Band 3. It had a few negative reviews but was an Amazon Choice, and seemed to have awesome features for the price. I ordered it and could not be happier. I have a Huawei phone and the two play very well together, as for instance, I already had the Huawei Health app installed. When I connected the watch through bluetooth, the app identified it properly and I installed a Firmware update.Leaving the Fitbit world was a little scary, but I can report about a month after the purchase that I could not be more satisfied. One thing you lose is the community feature of Fitbit, but I was not a huge participant. On every other feature--step tracker, heart monitor, sleep monitor, app notifications, swim tracking (huge plus)--this watch is on par if not superior to my old Blaze. I have never had a single problem syncing data from my watch to my phone, where this was a continuous problem with the Blaze. The screen of the Huawei Pro Band 3 is vibrant and enjoyable to interact with. I love the weather icon. As a runner, I don't have to reach for the phone to see what is forecasted. Text, FaceBook, and other notifications come through clearly and reliably. I don't like that I have to tap on the heart rate screen to see my pulse (a pain when on a run), but the reading is accurate. It's a small inconvenience. The Huawei Health app is rich in functionality, providing a superior analysis of sleep (I always found Fitbit was undercounting hours of sleep). It will sync with Google Fit, which in turn provides data to MyFitnessPal app--a more complete diet tracker, etc. I have been using all three apps together.Overall, you will not find a better watch for the price or even anything that is three times the price! For the money, I spent on this I could not afford the most simplistic bracelet from Fitbit or Apple. This watch does not feel or look cheap to me--but realistically I expect a couple of years out of it. Nothing on the market seems to be that even if you spend $400.
