life saver.. this thing rocks
pretty depressing being layed up for 6 months. once you get on this scooter, you will feel alive again. it is easy to use.... much much more than crutches. one easy push from your good leg, and you can glide a long ways. the wheels are so smooth that it feels like you are flying.it is a little heavier than a walker, so its not quite as easy to get in the car. but i guess i am fit enough i can bend the handlebar down and get it in the trunk... then hop around to get in the car. grandma cant do that, but she doesnt want a scooter anyway.it is heavier due to the thick steel frame. it would be nice to have an alluminum frame. but i guess they are making this strong so that it wont fail when someone obese gets on it.if you arent in shape, you will be limited in how far you can go. while its perfect for around the house, your bent leg will start to burn if you dont stretch it out. if i am going down the street, i will probably stop at each block for a second and stretch my leg. then i am good to go.it is a little thinner than a walker, so i find it easier to use around the house in tight spots. its not as easy to turn around, but you get used to that pretty fast. i added a little basket, and that makes it very easy to cook or work in my shop. i like that i can pull close to a counter (closer than you can w a walker) and work with one knee on the seat. i turn sideways to do this.you have to be careful over bumps, cracks and even the edge of a carpet. if you hit something from an angle, it tends to turn the steering enough to crash. havent done that yet, but as i get better and go farther, it will probably happen. the brakes are better than those on a walker, but they are not going to stop you if you get going down a hill. make sure you wear a shoe so you can slow yourself down if you are speeding. and it will speed. my wife is a runner, and i can pass her. i suppose, on level, i can get going 15mph on a smooth floor. on a sidewalk, you wont want to go faster than a walking pace just in case you hit a bump. if you sit on it, instead of kneeling, your center of gravity is low and you then can ride over rougher surfaces.when i see a bump, i give my self a push which lifts the front wheels a inch so that it clears. i can go over bumps and thresholds pretty smoothly this way. i actually get around the house faster on this than i would walking (even without an injury).it is well engineered and built. fully adjustable, so i think anyone could use it. it will last a long long time. though it first seems like a lot of money, after using it, i find it is worth it, and much more. retail this sells for 500 locally. had it not been for amazon, i would have paid that.buy it buy it buy it!you will get stopped often with inquiries. one cashier came after me as if i was stealing it from walmart. when he saw i had a cast, he felt bad and said "cool dude".it is a cool ride. a real advancement in rehap. perhaps the best i have scene.

A Mobility Life Saver
My physician recommended this brand of knee walker because he felt it was a better quality walker, had a sharper turning radius and a thicker knee pad than other devices. I initially planned to rent this walker from a DME company but none in my area carried this brand. They all tried to steer me to another brand. I was getting a little nervous so I asked a DME company why this brand was not carried. I was told because this brand was a better quality product, it cost more but the insurance reimbursement was the same. That was enough for me.So, because I was a little late ordering this device, I had to use crutches for a few days. What a bummer! The knee walker comes mostly pre-assembled but the other components attach very easily. It has a very solid, durable design and construction but the alloys used in making the walker made it extremely light weight. This was a concern for me because I would be the one lifting this in and out of my car. No problems! The shaft folds down easily creating a very compact package. The walker does have a good turning radius allowing me to get in and out of regular bathrooms and hallways. It rolls very smoothly across textured and flat surfaces. The dual brakes work very well if you are on a very slick surface or for going downhill.I especially love the thickness of the knee pad. Again, this was a concern for me. Even though I purchased this for a post-ankle surgery, I also have knee instability because of the ankle. With the quality, thick pad, I had no problems being on my knee several hours a day. I also used Essential Medical Supply Knee Walker Pad Cover just for added comfort.I would highly recommend this knee walker for anyone with below the knee surgery or compromise. The Sunlite Mesh Bottom Bicycle Lift Off Basket fits perfectly on this knee walker. The walker was delivered on time and was properly packaged without dents or scratches.

Excellent mobility
Following a broken ankle this product gave me back my mobility, and was far superior to relying on crutches or a walker. It is very sturdy and stable, allowing the user to stand and still have use of arms to do things like cooking, dishes etc. Narrow enough to go through doors and around items, it also allows you to go backwards. You can move very quickly using the scooter and it was comfortable to use. Amazon delivered it quickly and it was easy to put together using one Allen key. It folds down for easy transport and was fully adjustable for height etc. Highly recommend this product to save the pain of using crutches, or as a supplement to crutches. You will absolutely love this product and never regret the purchase.
