This book is a great book for taking small steps towards becoming a good writer. The mini -lessons and the activities are great. It is not an intimidating book if you don't know or understand how to write an essay.

One of the best, if not THE best teaching resource for Middle School students on how to write both Expository and Argumentative, 5 paragraph essays. The presentation is clearly delineated, and designed to take the student through the steps to writing a well thought- out and planned paragraph. It models the structure of the paragraph, and makes a clear comparison between the important structure of the paragraph and how those structures correlate and are used to write 5 paragraph, proving that if you can write one (1) paragraph, you can write five (5) paragraphs..

Great resource for teaching how to organize your ideas into essays, proof reading, and much more. I would have given it 5 stars, but the book was damp with pages unusable. The eBay store happily and immediately refunded my cost! Very efficient seller!!

This is one of the best books on writing I have purchased this year. It has a lot of very useful information, lesson plan suggestions and instructional templates for ESP writing teachers.

Helpful resource for students who struggle with writing essays.

Not quite what I was looking for as it is more lesson plans for teachers, but there are a few useful tips in the different types of essays. This says it's for younger kids, but the parts that were helpful, applied to all school age kids, up to high school in my opinion.

I didn't really read up on this, but it kept me from having to take summer classes. This is for teachers, not students. But I can honestly say, I passed my entrance essay because of this book.

This is a powerful tool for all writing teachers. It does an excellent job breaking down the writing process. Teaches you how to easily convert a well written paragraph into a multiparagraph essay.
