Amazingly smooth roll - but hard to get going
I was looking for a bigger, softer wheel (coming from 80a/72mm Oranagatan Morongas) for cruising the rough streets around my city - particularly at this time of year with lots of leaf debris etc on the roads. Due to the poor state of the roads and pavements in my neighbourhood I typically had to carry my longboard for big sections of my outings, and other sections were no fun to ride because of road vibrations. In comparison, 77a Cagumas feel like I'm floating on air. They roll over just about everything I might encounter, from gravel, rough tarmac, cracks and small potholes, metal grates and drains, small sticks and leaf litter - which means more time riding and less time carrying. They're almost silent in use, and grip the road like nothing else. However, there's always a trade-off; they're big and heavy, so it takes a lot of pushing to get up to speed. They give a higher ride height so not so easy to push. Finally the soft sticky urethane has a lot of rolling resistance, so they're not great for pumping. Sometimes I wish I'd gone for the 80a instead... but then I roll comfortably over a huge crack and wonder if the harder wheels would handle rough terrain so well.

Excellent if you have the right board!
I think these Orangatang Caguama Longboard Wheels - 85mm might have had a 5 star rating. However, if like me you buy them without really thinking you may end up with wheel bite and coming off your board. The fact is there are not a ton of boards that readily accommodate such large wheels. Eboards often take these wheels OK, also longboards with special brackets like G/Bomb. The only other option is to have deep wheel wells in your board, Harder Barrel bushings that compromise the turning ability of your board or truck risers that take you a mile off the ground or a combination of all three. On the postive side (before I got wheel bite twice) the ride feels super smooth, the wheels glide over cracks and pavement inperfections brilliantly and they are really grippy. I loved the sensation and flow of these wheels and I also like that the harsh lip has been removed from the edge of the wheel so that it stops it catching on objects. They are still relatively heavy but for this size thats probably normal. I was going to sell these wheels however I am in the future getting a LDP board made up to accomodate them!
