This lying down elephant has a friendly appearance, and is, hopefully, going to appeal to a child who likes their soft cuddle toy – even though something about it, somehow, suggests it should be a pyjama case - it looks so comfortably settledIt may not be suitable for the very smallest child prone to pull at things and put anything loose into their mouths – the eyes are not soft and integral;It may just be my warped imagination, but the combination of the pink and the snout end did make elephant look as if it might morph into porker, but I expect a little one will serenely love it for what it is (I would have preferred snout to stay grey)Hand, not machine wash when the little one has loved it to soggy grime, and leave to dry naturally, not tumble dry.It certainly invites strokes and hugs, and it wouldn't surprise me if the open mouth led to a kind child trying to feed it with buns......hence the useful washing instructions

This grey plush elephant is constructed to lie down with back and front legs extended - it does not stand up. It is about 14cm high with a lifted trunk, but almost 50cm long from trunk tip to extended legs. It is very soft and cuddly and nicely coloured in dove grey with brown "toes", pink trunk tip, subtly shaded inner ears and a wrinkled tummy. Two small ivory tusks and secure black eyes complete the realistic details.There are no age warnings on this toy, it can be handwashed and I therefore assume it is safe for babies to chew on the tail, trunk, ears etc. The size in my view is a bit big as a first borns cuddly toy, more appropriate from 6 months or so. At around £17 it is not the cheapest but looks like it will last well and give good cuddle times.

This is an elephant toy that unfortunately has the wrong body for an elephant. It looks like they've used something off of the stocks that they used for a tiger or dog or something, coloured it grey and attached in to an elephant head. The back legs are wrong and the toy has paws. It takes away from the toy somewhat but my kids, who admittedly don't see real elephants every day, don't seem to notice and like this toy.The colouring of this toy is good with it being grey with hints of maroon on its head and ears. The face looks good (not so much the body as mentioned). And it is a good size. 4-stars.

This elephant is cute and cuddly, but isn't totally realistic, despite the description saying it's from the lifelike animals collection. It depends on what you want from it - if it's just a cute cuddly toy, then it's great, but if you wanted a realistic elephant, not so much. My daughter felt the feet were unrealistic in their shape and position, and wasn't sure about the splashes of pink on the fur. Having said that, it's very cute, very cuddly and the fur is soft and smooth to stroke. It's a little on the expensive side compared to other similar toys.

My 8 year old loved this, he found it smooth and comfy to cuddle. In particular he liked some of the detailing eg the small tusks, the opening mouth and the dots on the trunk. The legs are moveable (not jointed) but he was disappointed by the limitation of this as he would have liked it to be able to stand, and wanted the trunk to move as well.
