The Original Instant Pot Accessories 8 qt Steamer Basket with Silicone Handle

This is a pretty good stainless steel basket for Instant Pot users. It is made out of stamped and drawn sheet metal instead of the traditional wire mesh material. Cleaning this basket is much, much easier as a result. This was the main reason that I purchased this basket instead of some other, more well-known brands on Amazon.The handle is reasonably sturdy , and the rubber cover for the handle has held up so far.The basket has a circular piece of thick wire on the bottom with 3 formed feet that is tack welded in place. Should be OK, but time will tell. Not worth deducting a star from the rating, but a 4th foot might be better for stability when the basket is full.The solid metal ring at the top of the basket is heavy duty, and holds the round shape of the basket nicely.Size-wide, this basket fits nicely inside my IP Duo 6.0. I have steamed vegetables and hard cooked eggs in this basket, and love it.There has been no rust or discoloration so far, so the the stainless steel grade appears to be of decent quality. (Probably 304 or 18/8).This is one of those "must-have" accessories for the IP, along with the glass lid, IMHO.

I bought this to help with easily removing cooked pork butt pieces from the cooking juices in my 6 qt. electric pressure cooker. I wasn't sure it was going to fit, as mine is not an Instant Pot, but it was a perfect fit. I've used it once and washed it in my dishwasher after. Easy peasy clean-up. I don't know how it would hold up if I used it frequently, but I won't so no big deal. It has silicone on the handle but not on the feet. Having silicone on the feet might help prevent wear on the non-stick surface of my cooker's pot, but would be fine in the stainless pots. It arrived quickly and good condition. Happy with my purchase. UPDATE: I've used this over and over for many applications, including as a fabulous strainer for pasta - better than a colander. I just throw it in the dishwasher and haven't had any problems with rust. I bought another one for my smaller instant pot, because it's just that useful.

THE TRIVET THAT CAME WITH MY 8 QUART INSTANT POT WAS OBVIOUSLY A CARRY OVER FROM THE 6 QUART AND JUST ADDED IN WITHOUT MANUFACTURING ONE TO FILL THE 8 QUART ( THE ONLY WEAK LINK IN THE 8 QUART ) I USE IT AT LEAST ONCE WEEKLY FOR THE PAST 7 MONTHS AND I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THE QUALITY OF THE BUILD AND DESIGN CONCEPT....I REALLY DO NOT LIKE SCREEN BASKETS THIS IS PERFORATED STAINLESS IT WILL DEFINITELY HOLD ITS SHAPE IT FILLS THE 8QT AND I NO LONGER HAVE INGREDIENTS STUCK TO THE VERY HOT SIDES OF THE INSTANT POT . (THE INCLUDED TRIVET REALLY DID NOT CONTAIN MUCH ). THIS BASKET IS SAVING CLEAN UP TIME ON THE POT AND THE BASKET ONLY GETS AS HOT AS THE STEAM SO CLEAN UP OF IT IS EASY AS WELL .. THIS MADE MY INSTANT POT 100% PERFECT....

I really looked around for an Instant Pot steamer basket before deciding on this one. It is well made and functions beautifully. What I like most of all which was completely unexpected is that It nests perfectly on top of the folding rack that already comes with the Instant Pot if you would like some added height when steaming. This makes storage a breeze also. I liked that this one has flat stainless steel with holes rather than woven mesh which can bend and with some brands rust over time. It is very attractive and sturdy. Thought I would use my Instant Pot once or twice a week and use it 2-5 times a day, so this basket is a "must have" accessory in our household. Not only great for steaming veggies, but also for cooking/draining pasta, boiling/steaming potatoes, hard boiling eggs, etc. I absolutely LOVE IT!!!

This is the second basket that I have purchased for my 6 quart Duo Instant Pot. This one is far superior to the previous mesh basket in the ability to clean it. The perforated metal terminates cleanly into the rim so that small bits of vegetables or other basket contents do not get trapped between the mesh and rim upon cleaning. It is sturdy and easy to clean. I use it for steaming cut vegetables and potatoes, cooking beans, and making vegetable broth. Everything stays well contained in the basket and out of the cooking water, if desired. I need to purchase another, larger basket, for my 8 quart Viva Instant Pot. Every Instant Pot owner should have one of these!

Love this basket. I dont like any silicone in the pot when I am cooking my food so I always get baskets without silicone feet but the handle having silicone is nice and easily taken off and on. It is an upgrade to my last basket that the handle would not fold down into the basket it always sat above the top of the basket and also was not removable. I like the holes in this basket as I dont like the mesh wires that always snag wash clothes and are a pain to wash as everything wants to catch in every nook between the wires. this is a solid piece with holes punched in it SOOO much easier to clean this way.

I bought this for my 8 qt instant pot after being disappointed with a shorter steamer insert I had gotten in a different set. I am very pleased with this new one. It is sturdy, well made, has a good handle, and is designed with it's own "legs" to raise it above the water in the instant pot. I like the small holes... it will double as a good colander. I have used it twice. The first time was for veggies. Perfect! Yesterday, I used it to "hard boiled" a bunch of eggs in my instant pot, pulled it out by the handle and added ice on top, took it to the sink and began to peel my eggs. Very efficient and easy.

This colander is very well made. I haven’t had it long, but it works for me. It’s smaller than I had anticipated, because I use it to strain yogurt to make Greek yogurt, and it only holds less than half gallon. The mesh size is perfect for my purposes. Most yogurt strainers have a flimsy webbing that can separate or tear easily. I also use a euro cuisine strainer container and have to be ever so careful not to tear the mesh. The euro was also not large enough to strain half gallon of finished yogurt. So between the two strainers I’m able to make yogurt from a gallon of milk.
