Works well, but concerned about durability as it gets very hot.
As noted in the headline, works as advertised and seems to be of good quality. It does get very hot to the touch (like mild burn if you hold it) when charging. Also, once the battery hits 100% it shuts off and so the battery begins to discharge. At that point you must unplug it to re-set and return to charging mode.

Using this converter for both 45W and 85W MagSafe 2 power supplies on my 2018 15 in MacBook Pro. It works as expected, charges to 100%, does not get hot and does not shut off.

Charge your new laptop/phone with old charger- works like a charm!
For those who have a spare old MacBook Pro charger, this adapter is amazing solution! Get this dongle!I used an 85W MacBook Pro MagSafe charger and it charged my 2018 13" MacBook Pro from 40% to 99% in an hour and 15 minutes. The dongle warmed up a little but didn't heat up too bad. It does accept MagSafe and MagSafe 2 chargers which is amazing because it's always easier to find a MacBook charger than it is to find a USB-C charger. Hopefully it will last for a while, because the built quality seems to be pretty good.Hey I even use this adapter to charge my new Pixel phone with USB-C port - getting super fast charge from my old Macbook charger haha.You're not only adding functionality but also safety to your setup - with Magsafe your computer is being protected from being pulled off your desk. When purchasing a newer Macbook Pro that is no longer the case as USB-C doesn't do that.The only feature that's not available with this adapter is that the green light on Magsafe won't lit even though it's charging your laptop/android device so don't stress.

Don't think this works with new MacBook Pro and Thunderbolt Display
Someone please correct me if I'm wrong or if there's something I need to do. Otherwise, the power seems to randomly disconnect and then reconnect (even though I'm not touching the adapter at all). I have this plugged into a brand new MBP from my Thunderbolt Display.It's extra annoying as, because I leave my MacBook closed as it's "docked" with the Thunderbolt Display, this power cycle basically puts the computer to sleep briefly and requires a 5 second pause to switch the monitor back on. It also causes me to have to reenter my password to unlock the MacBook.If I'm doing something wrong....or if this particular adapter is simply a dud and needs to be replaced, please let me know and I'll be happy to change my review. Otherwise, this is pretty unusable.

Stopped Working after 4 Months
This unit may work better with older-than-2018 MacBook Pro's. Mine grew quite warm when charging and eventually just stopped working after less than 4 months, leaving me stranded on the road with a dead MacBook Pro. All the ones being sold here on Amazon seem to have originated in the same Chinese factory, so you are taking your chances with any of them - at least if you have a recent MacBook Pro.

Inconsistent charging.
This adapter usually takes a few tries, seating and unseating the magsafe connection, to get it charging -- and when it is charging the green light on the magsafe never activates. It'll often just stop charging without my realizing it, and then I suddenly notice my battery is at 10% right before I need to go somewhere! I also noticed right away that the magsafe seat in not aligned square in the device. Sloppy construction. Returning it! (Also, big shoutout to Apple for creating a lot of waste by eliminating a charging port that was better/safer than the new one.)

Works Perfectly!
I have a Macbook Pro, and I also have some devices that have a USB-C port to charge them, so instead of bringing around a separate USB-C cord everywhere I go to charge those devices, I figured that I could just use this adapter instead since I always have my Macbook Pro with me. I got this in the mail, and tested it out, and it works perfectly to charge my USB-C devices. Also when I upgrade my MacBook, I have the security that I can still use my MagSafe cords with this adapter since Apple seems to be moving to USB-C. Great product!

False Advertisement. Does not work with MacBooks.
Works for a few minutes, sometime even charges few percent, then just disconnects. Two nights I plugged it in my MacBook Pro, it appeared as charging, just to find the laptop it completely drained from battery in the morning. Will be returning.
