Amazing !
This is a great little light. I already have one and rather than keep switching between bikes, I decided to have one for each bike. There is a 'bolt on' version of this light but I like this soft mount type with a pinch on versatile strap. I've had one for a few years and have never lost it....so it it works well for a fastener type system. The light recharges in about an hour.....blinks as it is charging and then light goes solid when fully charged. I can get 5-8 solid 2hr rides in without recharging. If you leave the light in 'blink ' mode over 'steady on' you'll get alot more hrs of usage between recharges. A V-E-R-Y strong and bright light. I wouldn't use it in a group ride as you'll piss off whomever is behind you. I live in the burbs outside Boston, where there is lots of traffic and people drive fast on the narrower rural roads. I can honestly tell you that this light gets me 2-3 feet of a wider berth from the cars passing from behind. A very well built light...long battery life , waterproof a good investment for your safety.

Wonderful bright lights.
These are wonderful bright lights. We always use these when riding anywhere on streets. The lights are very very visible. Highly recommend.

Another hit from CygoLite!
This review is gonna be hopefully nice and short. As an already satisfied customer with my previous HotShot rear light, I decided to give this one a go since my new bike and it's proprietary seatpost were making things difficult for my classic HotShot. So I decided to give this one a try and I'm glad I did. Those 200 lumens really make themselves known while riding and I love the new functions versus the old light, especially the function that keep the light low, for night riding, while still flashing a bit brighter to make sure I'm still being seen. Adjustable brightness on the constant on is another plus as well as upgrading the USB port to a micro rather than the mini like my old light has. The mounting bracket, despite reading about some of the complaints in other reviews honestly couldn't be more simple. Only slight niggle I have with the mount is that to charge the light I have to remove the whole mount where with my classic, all I had to do was unclip the housing, but it's not a big deal and I won't even deduct any "points" for that since it's so easy to mount and un-mount. As for battery life, that remains to be seen, but if my classic is any indication, it's gonna be great as well, and long lasting, as my classic still holds great charge now going on nearly 5 years with me. Get this light if you value safety while riding day or night you won't be disappointed. I'll update if anything unforeseen happens. Happy cycling folks!

Strong Light, Charging Challenging
A truly bright taillight with a good selection of flashing options. I've had many people ask me for the brand name because they were so impressed. One day, in the morning fog riding over the Golden Gate Bridge in SF, its brightness actually annoyed other riders as it permeated the fog all around, creating a glowing, flashing, red cloud and was distracting. I've owned two of these, and I have three issues, all related to charging. They use the outdated Micro-B USB, which requires a separate cord setup wherever you charge since most electronics are now USB-C. Second, the charging port itself will fail eventually. In my case, after about 1 year of daily use. Winds up not charging at all on the supplied cord or replacements. And last, the rubber port plug is connected by an extremely flimsy thread of rubber to the main body, and though that tgread is meant to keep the plug attached for use, it tears within the first half dozen uses and the plug gets lost. This opens it up to wet and dirt (which may contribute to my second gripe). Overall, I just wish it was more durable, but it does supply an excellent light.

If you want to be seen, this is the one
Very bright even on sunny days. Cars will see you. Wish it used USB-C to charge

They did a great job. A perfect addition.
I just received this taillight for my bicycle. I can't comment yet on battery life. It is very easy to charge the unit. I like that it has a blinking light when it is charging and a solid light when it is done. I like that it has an indicator when it needs to be charged. The controls on the light are intuitive and easy to use. The light is very bright, certainly enough for daylight riding. I like that it has an auto dimmer feature-sit will adjust to ambient light on any of the pulsing programs. The mount is solid and I really like that it is partly molded plastic and the other part is a rubber grommet so it is easily adjustable to whatever size or shape seat tube you have. Also the light is not to large and bulky. I feel confident that it will stay on over bumpy terrain. I have purchased several taillights-the most recent was about twice the size of this one and much heavier. I had concerns about the bulk, as well the controls were not intuitive to use. I had it about a week and went on a ride and came back and it was no longer on my bicycle((( By contrast, this product really seems to have been well thought out and the light is extremely bright. I'm ordering a second one for my other bike.

Bright enough to be visible in daylight
Expensive but worth it. Less expensive taillights were not bright enough to show up well in daylight.

Maybe the best tail light on the market today, but the mount is dreadful
In the past ten years or so, daylight visible tail lights have become very affordable, with the Cygolite Hotshot Pro series leading the movement. I have seen copycat lights on the market but I've always stuck with these. They are daylight visible because they have very bright LEDs and have a narrow beam that must be aligned properly. If they are flopping down or pointed up at the sky they don't make you visible to drivers. This is where this mount is important. It's so flexible you can attach it in a moment to seat stays, seat posts, racks, or anything firm. The loop on the back of your saddle bag is still not going to work very well. For those of us with disk brakes, we know the difficulty of attaching a tail light to the left seat stay when there is a cable running down it. This mount works great even on non-circular seat stays. Mounting and dismounting is a breeze and only takes a couple of seconds. I run this in random flashing mode during the day and it's very visible to drivers up to 1/4 mile behind me. It's too bright at night when I'm in a group but I can set it to solid mode and dim it to an acceptable level. The battery is recharged using a micro usb cable. The run time varies with the settings, but I've run them 24 hours straight so I know they last at least that long. Mine normally recharges in about 2 hours, but I don't think I've ever fully depleted it. There's no indication of battery level so it's best to recharge before using them. Even in "random" mode it's still only has a very short flash pattern. I feel drivers pay more attention if they think they are approaching a group of riders so I would love to see a flash pattern that simulates several lights. I would feel a lot safer riding alone at night. Of course, I suppose I could simply buy several of these. This is the fourth Cygolite Hotshot tail light I've owned in the past 10 years. One got lost, the other stolen. I still have two on the bike. Update: Well, they were on the bike but both the mounts broke at the same point under normal usage. I cannot recommend these mounts at all. They ruin a great light.

A very bright light
I like this light. It is bright and easy to see. The settings I use give me about 2hrs of burn time. The battery charges quickly and I carry a battery pack so I am able to charge it on the go. The light mounts on the seat post and it has held without any problems. The only negative comment I have is that it only can mount on the seat post, If I am carrying bags on the back of my bike I can not mount the light anywhere else so if you are not bike packing like me and are traveling light then you should not have any problems.

Excelente, extraordinaria, insuperable, seguridad total.

Finally a REALLY BRIGHT tail light
I have several "reasonably bright" tail lights. I have not been able to get "REALLY BRIGHT", until now. Part of the problem is vendors who claim 200 lumen brightness when the real rating is more like 50 lumens. ...other reviewers have different notions of "REALLY BRIGHT". User ratings are difficult to compare. How do I know this light is "REALLY BRIGHT"? 1. I still see red spots 30 minutes after looking at this light! No other tail light does that 👍. 2. I saw a cyclist with a "REALLY BRIGHT" tail light on the road ahead of me. I caught up with him and confirmed he had this light. Bought it when I got home.
