Magnetic Stirrer, Compact Round Simple Design Magnetic Stir Plate

I am leaving the review 4ish + years later after I bought it because sadly today...the plate has finally died, and I used the heck out of that thing. While the magnetic function still works whatever mechanics inside that make it spin has finally given out. I used to call it Mr. Dead or Alive because you spin me right round baby, right round, like a record! All and all it was totally worth it for 17 bucks, I might just go ahead and buy the same one to replace it. I will say one critique is the torque/power it had to get the bar spinning. Standard and slightly thicker liquids and what not no problem at all, but the few times I had to mix something a bit more viscous (Think cold maple syrup out of the fridge) I had to do a bit of tinkering (Things like manually shaking the container to get it moving, or turning the unit on and off while the bar was synced to the plate, to give it that slight extra boost of turn power) to finally get through the initial few rotations before it picked up steam and stayed spinning consistently...but all and all great product and value.

This is a great magnetic stirrer - it does perfectly for what I need it to do. I bought it to boost my yeast cultures for home brewing wines, and it does a great job. It's very quiet and easy to use, it is also pretty easy to keep clean. It's not very large so it's easy to store, and it's proven to be pretty durable so far. Very happy with this purchase, would order again!

Not to go Heisenburg but lab stirrers are great in the kitchen. I've used a pair (one heat and stir and one stir only) for many years, my stir only gave out so I replaced it with this one and so far so good. You can control the stir speed from very slow to really fast, best of all the only moving part is the magnetic stir bead in the bottom, ingredients won't get chopped up as in a blinder. (I've never used one on a super thick soup but for reconstituting beef stock paste into broth they are great. Anytime I really need to make sure somethign fully disolves I can leave it on a stirrer and know it will be ready to go while I can complete other tasks cooking. The same company makes one that has heat as well and the price on that is crazy low compared to 15-20 years ago when I got mine. If I'm doing a big meal it let's me multi-task better. If you haven't used one it's worth a try, I can't believe how cheap they are now. **Safety note - the glassware and stir rods I use for cooking have never been used with chemicals or anything other than food grade materials. Don't reuse lab glassware for safety. That said the gradients on lab glassware are easy to read and you can get a variety of sizes which is great when you are working on receipies that need perfect measure.*

It mixes well, if the liquid is too thick or heavy it will have some issue but mostly it does the concept well.

Very good but may struggle to handle 3000 ml. It works well for 2000 ml container. I'm not sure about durability since we only used this for a single science project so far.

using it daily to stir water and it works like on the first day.

Haven't tried it with more than water yet but it works even with my 3Liter Erlenmeyer flask.
