A compromise offering partial satisfaction
I bought the lenscoat for my Sony G EF 100-400 (GGoss) lens. It provides some of the desired protection for the lens but falls short of an integrated lens sleeve such as previously purchased lenscoat products. This one is comprised of many pieces, that while in use , tend to stretch and shift from their intended positions and distract from usage of the lens in the field. In all fairness, I dont think its lenscoat’s fault; i think it’s due to the Sony lens construction making a protective sleeve a challenge.

Cumbersome, awkward, dubious protective value
I bought this with the idea that I’d use it to protect the most expensive lens I own. I suppose it might work as protection from knocks and bumps, but I don’t see how it would help protect against rain. In fact, once water gets under the lens cover, I could see it being trapped there and prevented from evaporating. And this lens cover is certainly not water tight and will not prevent water from getting under it.The camouflage pattern does look very nice. But, again, I question its value for more than aesthetics. I have never had a wildlife subject flee because of the color of my lens. But I’ve certainly had it happen because of my own sudden movements. With all of that said, putting this lens cover onto the lens is the first major difficulty. It comes with instructions that assign a number to each piece of the lens cover. And it comes with instructions that tell you were to put each numbered piece. But there is no labeling on the pieces themselves. So, the instructions say to attach part 2 here? Which one is #2? Who knows? I suspect that if they’d just number the actual pieces of the lens cover, attaching it would be a snap. Without that labeling, it’s too hard to tell which piece is which.Once you figure that out, you have the problem that all the controls are covered. Want to push the button and release the lens hood from the lens? No problem. Im sure that button is around here somewhere. It’s under the cover with no indication it’s there, but you’ll be able to find it by touch. The focus ring? Zoom ring? They are under cover too and there’s no way to see what focal length you are using. The switches for optical stabilization and such are under a clear plastic window, so you can see them easily enough. This plastic window was designed to taunt you. Sure, you can see them, but good luck actually adjusting them. Not easy to do through the plastic window. All in all, I ended up fussing about and applying this lens cover only to end up taking it off again because of how difficult it made to operate the controls on my lens. I regret that I was lazy and did not put it on until a couple of days after the return window closed. Since I cannot return it, I will probably end up trashing it. I am very disappointed and do not recommend this lens cover.

Material Quality and Fit..
Not as good in material quality and fit as the Rolan Pro on my Sony 70-200, I was hoping for at least the equivalent from Lens Coat on my Sony 100-400 in fact I was quite disappointed..

Poor Quality
I bought this 11/10/18. Today is one year that I’ve had it. It has been a major disappointment as the quality does not stand up over time. Within a couple of months it was frayed and within 6 months the foam was worn out in multiple areas where my hans typically holds the lens.

Junk
Admittedly, Lenscoat has to make the individual pieces fit the individual functions the camera lens offers... but for the very narrow pieces, self adhesive backing might have helped keep these pieces in place instead of their being bumped out of alignment.Really, save your money and don't bother.
