Fluker's Culinary Coop Premium Chicken Treats, Dried Insect Trail Mix, 20 oz

My mice LOVE these! They are way cheaper than buying dried mealworms specifically branded for small pets, and there is much more variety with this. I like to scatter these in their bedding and they dig them out, which gives them enrichment and a protein rich snack that isn't full of artificial ingredients. It has a sort of... nutty(?) smell to it, which honestly isn't unpleasant and I actively try to avoid thinking of food when I open the bag. I'm glad it isn't gross smelling, but "mmm, bugs" isn't something I like thinking about. These always stay crisp and dry as long as the bag is resealed properly, and there is a surprisingly small amount that ends up as bits or dust at the bottom of the bag- they are almost always perfectly whole insects. These would also be great treats for pets like turtles, hedgehogs, fish or wild birds.

My quail love it! I bought this bag because I wanted to get a few treats for the little Coturnix quail I have at home. They just go gaga for those worms! There are big old dried grasshoppers in here that they don’t really care for but the great majority of the bugs are those mealworm looking things and they love those! Because my quail or small the seems like a crazy amount of bugs for the price but I don’t know if I would feel the same way if I had like five chickens. In any case my birds love it and I would absolutely buy it again!

I am always looking for a treat for my chickens and this fits the bill. I don't give them a whole lot, as I read you are not supposed to. And for the cost I don't want to go through it too fast. But, whenever I give my chickens this treat, that is the first thing they go for. I can tell they love it. There are not just those worms in the mix, but it looks like some crickets of some sort, as well. So, it has a little extra for your buck.

So I grabbed this for wild bird feeding knowing the temperatures were going to drop into the teens and single digits over the weekend and I wanted a little something extra for the birds I feed besides just plain mealworms. While I can definitely attest they were a HUGE hit with the birds, I wasnt prepared for the full sized freeze dried crickets! Again, not saying it wasnt popular with my feathered friends, but I dont want anyone else to be caught off guard! =)

My chickens LOVE this mix. When I say they wait every single day for this I mean it. They will bawk and stand by the bin until it is served. The bag is resealable but we keep ours in an airtight bin as well to keep bugs out.
