The other posted reviewer didn't realize that this opens up repeatedly, every day at the times you set. This feeder does work for 3 days worth of breakfast/dinner feedings. It would even open 6 days once per day if you preferred. Or you could have it open twice per meal, 3 meals in a day, and use up all the compartments. Not sure why you would though.The quality seems pretty good. I like that it can be a legitimate 6 meal feeder due to the cover that rotates out of the way on the first turn. The other rotating feeder on amazon (Petsafe 5 compartment feeder) doesn't have that so it's really only a 4 meal auto feeder. My friend has one of those and while I like it, I like this one much better.I think the only possible downside is a cat might be able to open that first cover before the first turn. That would be their 6th meal, so they could miss out on that. I'm not sure that they can open it though, so I won't knock a star off. Otherwise it's pretty well locked down.I'm really happy with this feeder. Disregard the other review, they don't know what they're talking about.

I bought two of these feeders that I've been using for about 2 weeks now. As a product designer myself, I feel qualified in providing a critique of this product. PROS: It works. It does what it's supposed to do, which is to feed my cats three small portions of dry cat food per day. CONS: The settings are not user-friendly or intuitive. Most annoyingly, this feeder makes THE. MOST. ANNOYING. BEEPING. SOUNDS. EVER. Three high-pitched beeps at every feeding time (needless to say, my cats and I both can't stand it) AND it beeps any time you access the settings. Anytime you press a button. There is no way to turn this off. I've tried covering the speaker opening with tape and cotton, but I can still hear it very clearly. I bought these feeders so that my cats would stop waking me up at 5:00 am. Now, this annoying high-pitched beeping wakes me up instead. Poor design. 3 stars from me.

My husband and I rescued a kitty a few months ago and he's an orange kitty, so he likes to eat, ha. He wasn't taken care of very well prior to living with us, so we've been trying to play catch up on his health and nutrition since we rescued him. He's still a kitten and still growing, so we've been giving him some "snacks" (a sprinkle of dry food) at some point during the day, in addition to the packets of wet food he receives for breakfast and dinner. We had to leave him for the first time in February for a long weekend trip we planned a long time ago and we had someone coming over to feed him breakfast and dinner, but there wouldn't be anyone to hand out the daily "snack" he'd become accustomed to, and I was worried about that, so I took to my favorite shopping zone, Amazon, to solve the problem.WELL...let me tell you, I couldn't be any happier with this product! It's very easy to set up. Each compartment has lines inside so you can know you're putting the same amount of food in each compartment. It's very simple to take the feeder apart to refill, reprogram, clean, etc. When we received the feeder, prior to our trip, I set it up to open once per day, at 10:00pm, so that he'd get a bedtime snack. It worked out well for him to get a little treat at the end of his day, until his cat sitter came in the morning for breakfast. Currently, I have it programmed for a light lunch snack at 1:00pm, because when my husband and I are home and working and having normal life, we feed him breakfast around 5:30 or 6:00am and feed him dinner around 6:00 or 6:30pm, so the lunch snack gives him a little something in the middle of that.I especially like that you can program it for once per day or for multiple times per day and that it's very simple to change when and how often it should open. I also very much like the measuring lines inside each compartment, so the amount that will be provided is consistent in each compartment.We call the feeder the "snack robot" and my little orange boy quickly learned what the snack robot is all about. He knows what the sound that it makes means and he happily runs to get his snack every day. I am so pleased I found this item and have recommended it to several people I know!

very misleading. The timer is only programmable for 3 times a day (24hr). So you can feed 3 large meals (2 compartments each) in 1 day or 6 small meals in 2 days. But you can NOT feed 6 small meals in 1 day.

Calling this a "6 meal" food dispenser is misleading. Sure it has six compartments, but it is only capable of three programmed meal times a day (with the option of opening two compartments of food at each meal). My cat has a dietary condition where he must eat very small amounts of food spread out in many feedings. I was disappointed that this won't work for him and I'll have to send it back and continue my search for an automatic feeder. Three stars for ease of setup.

I used this to feed my cat two meals a day of her wet food for 3 days. I found the instructions very easy to follow and was able to set what time I wanted each meal to be ready (it offers breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner- you can choose 1-3 meal(s) a day).I was able to wash the food tray easily even though it was wet food that had been there a few days.Some smarter kitties may figure out how to open the first tray (which slides under the round upon the first rotation), but thankfully my catto just sat and meowed at it instead of tearing it open.This item does require a lot of batteries.

Broke after 4 months. Have to contact pawple for one year warranty information. Would not recommend this feeder.

This is a lifesaver! my cat insists on eating through the night. So light and easy to use. My cat easily learned how to use it. While he inspected it he tried without success to get in the next cup. I like how only one cup is open at a time. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 star rating is the directions may be simple but not complete.
