Good quality loves these knives, and the block is very attractive

Purchased this knife set after extensive research. After hours of researching more expensive German and Japanese sets I decided to take the plunge based on the reviews. They did not disappoint. They were razor sharp out of the box. They have good balance and a comfortable handle. I have used them everyday since I purchased them about 2 months ago and they are still as sharp as the first day. Slices through veggies like hot butter allowing you to make super thin slices. Slicing chicken and beef is effortless. Maintenance is easy. Just make sure to wash them and dry them immediately after each use to maintain the great shinny finish. My set has not gotten any discoloration or rust spots like other people stated. The wood block has a hefty feel and looks great on the counter. Rub with mineral oil once in a while to keep the wood looking nice. Would highly recommend this set.

I wish I had a better picture of these but I’m not a chef and am just learning how to use my new knives. What I can tell you however, is that these knives makes me want to be a chef! Wow! They cut like a dream! They can be balanced on your fingertip so I know that the blade is equal weight to the handle. I love that both blade and handle are metal because it makes clean up easy and worry free! We simple use a gentle sponge to clean and a soft towel to dry and then slide the knife right back into its holder. The holder, by the way, is also quite beautiful! I can imagine this knife set and holder both being on display in a designer home or kitchen! They would both be gorgeous additions to any home! I have a hard time deciding which knife I like the best and I know they all have different names so I won’t try but the two larger knives definitely get the most workout in our home. Everything from chopping delicate herbs to slicing tough meats... these knives make beautiful cuts on everything and turn a plain meal into a beautiful meal with little effort! Easily the best purchase we’ve made in a long time!

I previously ordered the Cangshan N1 Series 59151 German Steel Forged Santoku Knife, 7-Inch. I was looking to order a few other knives from the Cangshan collection when I saw this set. This set is new to their collection. I have only had it for just over a week but I love the look of it. The knives are balanced well and have a unique look to them. They are incredibly sharp and feel good in your hand when using. The block is heavy and looks amazing. There is a small chance that the block could fall over but would take a strong hit to accomplish. The knives do have to come out of the block from the top so if you put under a cabinet you will have to move to get the knife out.I can't comment on the longevity of the knives due to not having them that long. This will also vary from person to person and will depend on their cleaning technique. Overall extremely pleased with the product and would recommend to others.

Great knives in terms of craftsmanship, quality, design, and function. Love always having the perfect knife for the job, now owning some new knives that have proven useful when needed (meat cleaver, peeler, etc). The kitchen sheers are awesome being solid stainless steel with no plastic, but note they are heavy and not very comfortable to use. The 4 stars is because I received serrated steak knives, not the fine edge that the description stated. I specifically wanted fine edge steak knives, so this was important to me. I called Angela at Cangshan who was nice and explained that it must have been old Amazon stock. I could return the set to Amazon and then re-buy with no guarantee that I would get the fine edge on the re-order (because she had no way of knowing what Amazon actually had on the shelf). Because I wanted these knives for the holidays, to repack the entire set for return and not know what I would receive next was not a good option. So I accepted the offer to ship just the 8 serrated steak knives back directly to her at Cangshan, to be exchanged for the correct fine edge. I told her I was not happy that I had to pay for return shipping of the incorrect product, but she said they would not cover it. Unfortunately it took almost 3 weeks in total to get them back and I only received 7 knives in error. Angela apologized again and shipped the other knife, along with a gift for the aggravation. So, in summary I am very happy with the product, but it was a disappointing customer experience that didn't fit with the higher end price point expectations. Problems will happen to every business - how they are taken care of makes all the difference. It could have been made much better from the start by providing a return shipping label instead of making me pay $14 to ship the incorrect products back to them. Then, getting the exchange done promptly and correct the first time, with better than the slowest shipping back to me, would have been good. The overall process took several calls, emails, and too long - over a month to complete.

I have never owned a really nice knife set before, so I can't compare this to other nice knife sets. I can tell you that these knives BLOW AWAY every other knife set I have owned. The block is beautiful, the knives are beautiful, and they do their job better than I knew a knife could. One little thing to consider... because of the height/shape of the knife block, it was a challenge to find a place for it in my kitchen. While it fit between the counter and upper cupboards, it's too close to the cupboards to be able to pull a knife out. At first, I pulled the entire block out each tinme I wanted to use a knife or put one back... that was a pain. So I finally moved to to a spot where there was no cupbaord above. It isn't where I wanted it in the kitchen - less convenient for common use. But it is more convenient that sliding the wood block around. All that being said, I get many compliments about how classy the block looks, and I am quite happy with my purchase.

I finally gave up my set of over rated Cutco knives for these new very sharp knives. They stay sharper longer and are more stylish.
