By far the best vegan protein I have ever had is the Vega brand! It is on par with the price of other protein powders. I mix it with almond milk and water, as well as add flaxseed to it and it mixes just fine in a shaker bottle. Good texture, not gritty at all. Standard serving size. Highly recommend this brand!

Like the taste and effect

I decided on this protein powder because I have many food allergies and don't always react well to whey. I got the mocha flavor and to me it was a weak mocha flavor so what I do is add a bit of instant coffee when mixing. I even like it with water which is very unusual for me as I usually need to add some type of milk. 180 calories for a full scoop 30 grams of protein. The powder is super blended and very messy but it mixes very well because of this...no clumps so it's a great trade off. Overall I will keep drinking it as I like it for workouts and overall hunger. The iron in each serving is high so if that is a concern I recommend looking at the label before buying.

I LOVE the flavor. The mocha is so perfect, almost like the real mocha you can taste from coffee shop. There is this weird taste of sweetness at the end of the flavor that i am not a huge fan of, but so far the flavor is good. But what annoys me is this scoop. Seriously this is the best design you could think of? Gets on my hands and all over the counter every single time. If i cancel the subscription it would definitely be because of this horrible scoop.

I’ve tried a lot of protein powders and this is still one of my favorites. The mocha flavor tastes good, blends well, and is perfect for mornings when I need something quick and filling. The only downside is the coffee flavor seems to highlight the slightly bitter aftertaste from the sweetener a little more than other flavors. It’s not unbearable, but it’s definitely noticeable.

This VEGA pea protein powder has been a great addition to my workout routine, both before and after. If you understand your body's needs and workout goals, this, or likely any whey, can be beneficial. For me, the function and price of this particular powder were the deciding factors, especially since it's affordable with EBT SNAP benefits. I appreciate that the ingredients are verifiably good and standardized. It mixes easily with water – I find this yields the best results as protein powder doesn't seem to dissolve well or healthily in milk. The smell and taste are both really tasty, and it's acceptably filling. The sugar content isn't overwhelming either.

I’ve been a loyal customer, buying Vega protein powder 8 times since February 2024, thinking it was a healthy, plant-based boost for my workouts and diet. I had issues with Whey protein in the past. But now, I feel absolutely disgusted and regret every scoop. Coincidentally, or maybe not, my chronic illness has gotten noticeably worse since I started consuming this regularly in February 2024 and I’m a very active person that consumes a clean diet. What pushed me over the edge? Learning about the heavy metals and contaminants lurking in these plant-based proteins. Vega has been flagged in multiple reports for elevated levels of lead, cadmium, arsenic, and mercury, stuff that plants absorb from contaminated soil. A Clean Label Project study specifically called out the chocolate variants as being particularly high in lead and cadmium, which is alarming. And get this: there’s an ongoing class-action lawsuit alleging that these toxic minerals exceed safe levels. Sure, it’s not unique to Vega, it’s a common issue with vegan powders, but that doesn’t make it okay. Health experts warn that long-term exposure could lead to serious risks like neurological problems or kidney damage. I trusted the brand for its vegan, gluten-free appeal and nutritional profile, but now I’m done. If you’re dealing with any health issues, steer clear or at least get tested for heavy metals. Whole foods are the way to go from here on out. I feel so stupid now and I should’ve done research. RESEARCH PLEASE 🙏🏼

TIP: Extend the short scoop handle with a chop stick secured with a rubber band... helps you get to the bottom. REVIEW: No whey, no rice... Yeah! No sugar...Yeah! Great for diabetic 1 or 2. Great with coconut milk, and almond milk. Have used this brand for over 5 year...Mocha flavor. It actually tasted like Mocha in the previous smaller size, which was discontinued. Ok...we got used to the Mocha-caramel-like flavor in the Sport version. But wait.. that changed too in the last couple of months. We can only tolerate the new taste by adding a 1/4 t. of organic cocoa powder (Navitas). I decided to read the reviews about the chocolate flavor to consider switching. I always start with the 1 and 2 stars. The chocolate flavor has changed too...and concerns about unhealthy levels of metals in the product. Then I read the 1 and 2 stars about Mocha...and many people complaining about flavor change. Is it a sign of 'inflation' times, product changes to reduce costs? Price no better. The metals complaint concerns me the most and I will research more to see if I find any articles on the topic. Over all...like my title... long time loyal fan is waning...
