An inexpensive surprise.
I bought this hammer drill expecting it to be almost a throw-away item after my use but I was pleasantly surprised that this drill performed very well. My project was drilling approximately 30 holes in various boulders so that I could split them down to more manageable pieces. I used an 18 mm bit and the drill worked perfectly hole after hole with no signs of over-heating or motor strain. For a low-priced hammer drill, this unit seems to be well made. So, what I expected to be a throw-away tool, now has a place in my tool box.Two things on the negative side. The plastic depth guide is pretty worthless and the detachable handle, even tightened to the max, still has more flex than I would like. This is due to the plastic ring that holds and tightens it onto the drill. It seems a little weak but all in all, it's a pretty nice drill for the price.

Scary noisy...
When I first turned this drill on it started making a loud clanking noise just in the regular drilling mode, not hammer. It seems to knock especially starting, slow speeds, and stopping. It's loud and scary enough for me to not want to use it. Also, the variable speed is a plastic wheel that stops the trigger from going all the way in. That also prevents the lock-on function from working at low speeds. I could tell that it was a budget item since the box that it came in was deformed because the drill barely fits inside.

Great hammer drill
Really good cheap hammer drill. Also functions as a normal drill. The only thing I’m kind of confused about is why it’s says impact drill on the box. I can only assume at some sort of translation error. This is not an impact drill it’s a hammer drill which can also function as a normal drill. Other than that it works great as a hammer drill. Keep in mind the hammer function doesn’t initiate until you’re actually drilling into a hard surface like concrete.

Nice Handy Tool BUT ...
Great handy tool. Better than what I was expecting.I am updating my review now. After I used the drill several times, the cover of the power switch (speed adjuster) fell off. See the attach photo. Because of this, I change my rating from five-star to three-star.

excellent hammer drill, good value
the drill performed well. I am only a home user and do not use it professionally. The drill has enough power to drill through kitchen tiles without overheating. It is not precision drill, but does a good job. As it is not a tool that I use every day...this less expensive, but serviceable tool is a good buy.

Used it to drill into concrete block
I was installing screws into our block wall for a project. My normal high-end drill couldn’t do it even with a masonry bit. I ordered this just to hopefully get the job done, and it was great!! It’s way too heavy and clunky to use regularly - it’s not an everyday drill. But it’s worth taking up space in the bottom of my tool chest for special uses.

Misleading
Apparently the Galaxy pro impact drill HAS NO drill chuck. This is my 2nd order, 1st one came without it! Just received the replacement which ALSO it has no drill chuck. The drill chuck is the small piece that holds the drill bit in place. One cannot use ANY drill without it. And I cannot purchase JUST THE DRILL CHUCK FOR THIS BRAND!!! HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED.

Great for Concrete Drilling
The price was great for a Hammer Drill, which I needed to secure my new Gazebo to a Concrete Slab in Pool Area. This drill did a great job for me and seems well built.
