Does this kit require glue?

I used glue on a couple of pieces for stability. Primarily where I was splicing track pieces together. When I was punching out some of the skinny pieces on one of the sheets, I had to re-glue some of the layers together. I used some simple clips and Elmer's glue to put it together. I built this as a project to see if it would be a good activity for my granddaughters. They are only nine, so the early steps would be easy enough but the final assembly is way to complex for their age.

Do these do well in hot/humid locations for extended times?

Hot environments would be OK. I would not recommend too humid environments since over time, wooden parts may start to lose their shape depending on the level of humidity of course. Probably keeping this item in a sealed case in such places would be a safe approach. I hope this helps.

No motor can be readily attached to this. However, if you are good with DIY, a simple DC motor can be attached to this. I would use a motor with a gearbox to slow down the rotation speed though.
