You can clean it, but it's not easy. Does the job, if modified.
I really, really wanted a simple straw cup that wasn't disposable - something that did the job but wasn't a pain to clean. This one is cleanable (better than some, according to reviews), but it's still a pain. The cup has four parts: the base, the screw/handle lid, a hard straw inside, and a soft insert with the soft straw and an air vent that fits into the lid. To wash the cup, you have to take apart all four pieces. This is challenging for two reasons. First, the cup is not easy to unscrew when it's wet. The lid has a little design around the edge that gives some traction, but the bottom part is pretty smooth. Plus, the handles get in the way from getting a good grip on it. Second, the insert piece that is part of the soft straw is really hard to get in and out. At first, I thought maybe I could skip taking it in and out every time, but then I noticed that the insert is bigger on the bottom and forms a little cavern under the hard lid, and milk pools inside the cavern. So, you really do have to take it out and put it back in each time.Regarding doing the job, it is designed with a closure that is cross-cut in the soft straw, so the baby has to bite the straw and then suck to drink. I read some reviews that said hardly anything came through this style of straw, so I tried sucking through it when I got it. Man, it is hard to bite and suck at the same time! I decided to forego the spill-proof-ness and clipped out the closure so it was more like a regular straw. If I keep the level of the liquid just below half full, my baby can get a few drops out if he shakes it and nothing comes out if he drops it. That's good enough for me, given that now he can easily drink out of it!

Love the removable straw!
This is currently my toddler's favorite cup for water. I originally had a set of two, but she chewed a piece of the straw off one of the cups (including the section with the valve), rendering it useless. I waited on buying a replacement, to see if the second cup would meet the same fate...but she only did it once. I couldn't find this again in the store, and was hesitant about buying them online because this version of the cup had a straw (the original two didn't). I ordered it anyway to try out, and she didn't care for it with the straw inside the cup (she still likes to tip the cup up to drink) - so I was very happy to discover that the straw is removable! The cons: The straw can be chewed off if she puts her mind to it, and the cup does leak unless the lid is on just right.

This leaks
Lets start with the positive. My son can grasp these handles very well. He figured out how to suck the liquid out so mission accomplished. However...these leak. They are awkward to screw the lid back on because of the handles. I'm always afraid I'm going to spill the drink before I get the lid secured. The handles are in the way of the twisting motion. There is always liquid left over in the straw part so it gets flung out all over the place by my toddler or oozed out on it's own if left sitting on the counter because of the pressure. You have to remember to loosen the lid, release the pressure and the liquid will then go back down inside the cup, then screw the lid back on. Annoying. I have to put water in these cups only unless I want to sit and monitor each sip he does so my floor isn't covered in sticky juice. And a big shout out to the company that picked two bright pink cups for my boy to use. Not that they knew I had a boy. I get that it was the luck of the draw which they state colors may vary. I just thought I would order two cups thinking I had a 50/50 shot of getting at least one boyish looking cup but no, they shipped two exactly the same. Excellent job. I guess real men drink from pink sippys.

fantastic alternative to sippy cup and easy for baby to learn from bottle
This guy was the best transition cup from a bottle for our boy. Sippy cups are a bit difficult when baby doesn't get the whole lift the bottle up over your head thing. Sucking is an easy transition from bottle to straw and the no spill straw requires the baby to bite and suck. Sounds like chewing gum and walking, but it was second nature for our boy. no other straw cups or sippy cups out there really stuck with our boy.Make sure that amazon sends you the correct cup though. When you choose the add on "colors vary" model, you get something similar, but it's not the same. this review is for the model with the 2 color handles and the straw that folds into a slider and requires a bite and suck for drinking.

I've purchased every straw cup out there and this is the best straw cup for milk
My twins have always preferred straw cups over the spout sippy cups. It was so hard to find a straw cup that doesn't leak milk. I've purchased every straw cup out there and this is the best straw cup for milk. This cup doesn't leak. If I find that it is leaking then the top isn't threaded correctly to the cup. I also like how it comes with a top cover if we need to take it to go.The only downside to this straw cup is that my son likes to chew on the straw and has broken several straws already. Since they don't make replacement straws, the cup becomes useless.

Good, until the rubber straw is chewed through.
We really enjoyed using this, however, our baby eventually would chew through the rubber straw. Nuby doesn't have a good replacement straw. Through Nuby's apparently only seller that provides the replacement straw piece (not Amazon), the replacement piece is not the same as the original and has a poor seal on the cup. This cup will work fine, until the straw is bitten through. Then, it's useless.

Great
I have to use a knife to make the valve in straw wider, otherwise my babies have a hard time getting anything out. Other than that I love them!

Four Stars
Love these! The only issues... If you don't make sure it's lines up right it will leak.
