Stellar Factory Ravine: A Crafty and Cooperative Card Game

Family loved it, its probably geared towards older people but our 12 and 13 year olds loved it. Easy to learn and play in minutes. Its a fast pace game that is more based on luck than skill but has different playing styles to change difficulty. (i.e. you die later than sooner :) )

My family loves this game! It feels like camping is great for a big group and is a different game each time.

Clean. No magic, no witches, no spells, no fantasy, no sex talk, no bad words / cussing. Great family game. You can modify the rules easily to fit your family preference. Game art is cool - wooden tokens for your vitality, weapon & tools cards, special "identity" cards. Story telling of new game events is clever and often funny. Easy to teach new people. Kids ages 7 (if they are clever) and up. We are all adults and teens and love the game.

This is such a fun game! It does take a second to get used to, but once you get it it’s hours of fun. I bought it for a girls night and trying to work together was a hoot. The madness cards had us laughing hysterically and the descriptions on the foraging cards were excellent. We played four or five rounds in two hours. It’s either a really fast game or a short game- just depends on your luck! The box itself is smaller than your average board game, but it’s mostly cards so not a lot of playing space is needed either. Fun for all ages.

I found this to be a fun card game with an interesting concept that kept everyone engaged once we got the hang of the rules. I liked that each round felt a little different, and there was a good mix of strategy and luck that made the gameplay enjoyable. The cards themselves felt well made, and the artwork added to the overall experience. That said, I thought the instructions could have been a bit clearer, as it took my group a little while to fully understand how everything worked. Once we figured it out, the game flowed much better, but there was definitely a learning curve. Overall, I think it's a solid game that's worth trying, especially if you enjoy strategy-based card games, though it may take a game or two before it really clicks.

My daughters (20 & 21 y.o.) and I love to play games. My husband, not so much. So finding a game that he's down to participate in can be a bit of a challenge. This game is SUPER easy to learn (like, SO easy), turns are fast, and there is no threat that it will last for hours. It's very simple in concept, but somehow very fun to play. Each person takes turns reading the cards, and it's cooperative (unless someone decides they want to go it on their own and try to survive without sharing!), so it keeps everyone involved. Also, it's well made and the graphic design is simple but pretty, and the cards well written. We don't have any little guys around, but this would be one of those games you could play with a 4 year old and a 94 year old at the same time. Kudos to the gamemakers for a nicely crafted family game.

This is a great little party game that will have everyone laughing till they cry (as long as they have the correct sense of humor, haha)! I recommend watching the video produced by the company to learn how to play, then you’re ready to go. It’s better with three or more players than it is with two. It’s not a pure logic game or a “serious board game” by any stretch, but it does require some teamwork and strategy and is not completely random like some party games. For our family, who love longer board games like Terraforming Mars and Wingspan, this is a fun game for when we don’t have the time for a longer game or when we just want to laugh together instead of focusing on hardcore strategy. We find it to be pretty replayable, especially for a party game. The cards are standard laminated cards, and the wooden tokens are nice and come in a holding bag. The box is already pretty small, but once you know how to play it could be even more portable if you just rubber-banded the cards together and put them in the token bag. Then you could take it with you camping... something that I really, really want to do. If you like Spaceteam or Code Names, you will like Ravine!

I loved the graphic design of the game as well as the concept, so I decided to buy it, and I'm glad I did! Ravine is a creative and fun game where players take on roles of survivors of a plane crash on a deserted island. Each member has a unique item salvaged from the plane wreckage that helps the player survive. You work together to survive until rescue comes, lasting through each night, the number of which depends on how difficult/long you want the game to be. There's a crafting element, where you can proactively defend yourself from animal or natural events, as well as a scavenging system where you can gain supplies and food, which replenishes your health. If you are a fan of Lost and/or Lord of the Flies then you'll enjoy this game, as it is similar thematically– man vs. nature, how does a group function without society, etc. This comes up especially in the madness cards that place disadvantages on players who have gone down to 1 heart. What I love most about Ravine however is that (despite the madness cards), it is a very collaborative game. While I love games like Settlers of Catan or Ticket to Ride, it's refreshing to play collaboratively in a saturated market of competitive games. Plus this is a relatively new game company and I like supporting them through this purchase.

I bought it for a friends birthday and when we opened it we noticed that 5 of the wooden hearts were missing :( I am going to give it a 1 star until someone messages me back and resolved this. Then I will leave my full review Edit: Matt responses to me and I got the missing pieces delivered without any troubles. Changing this to a 5 star review because the game is really fun, more the merrier I say. I think that it will get stale Soon though as my friends and I have almost memorized all the insanity cards due to over playing. But a great buy, super fun party game. Not recommended for younger players, they seem to be really confused with the insanity cards and how to play them.

Playing most games with the kids has been a bit of a mixed bag. With two loud and fiercely competitive boys pretty much any board or card game can quickly turn into a bloodbath. Ravine has proved to be a success so far though. The game itself is a hoot particularly when players start to go mad (much amusement to be had by all when I had to sing my way through most of the game). Even negotiating cooperation can prove hilarious with the youngest scoffing all the food - life imitating art! The rules are very easy to learn and the game challenge can gradually be increased as you grow in confidence. The game box is very compact so Ravine is ideal for taking away on holiday and the cards and game pieces are simple and nicely made. The number and variety of cards available means that the game doesn't get repetitive. Probably the only unavoidable issue is trying to adequately shuffle the large number of forage cards but that has more to do with my lousy shuffling skills than any issue with the game. At last count we have something like forty odd games but I can see us coming back to this one over and over. Give it a try - it's a real laugh.

To keep it short and simple (like the game itself): You read the manual in 2 minutes, spend 5 minutes playing your first game, then 15 more minutes playing three more games until you finally win one. Then you browse through the manual again seeing if there is anything more to do/experience in this game. No? Okay... Then you spend another 15 minutes going back go Amazon, request refund and another 15 to print the label and send it back. That's around one hour of your life wasted. If you are looking for a good survival game with replayability character and a great story, have a look at Robinson Crusoe: Adventures on the Cursed Island.
