Prime-Line J 4595 Step-On Door Holder, Diecast Aluminum, Spring-Loaded (Single Pack)

This has been holding up ver well. It is extremely sturdy as the outside shell is one solid piece of steel. You just step down on the lever between the case and the top rubber part to release the door stop. My started getting stuck so I sprayed some WD40 on the top and middle so that it would drip down inside and it fixed that problem. Another problem is that the rubber part on the bottom wore out over time. It is kind of my fault as I would let it swing and catch itself with the bottom rubber part (the floor isn't even) and that eventually wore away the rubber. However, I just bought some of those rubber leg covers for stools/chairs at a local hardware store and put it over the remaining rubber and it has worked fine so far.

This style of door stop is very hard to find locally and most people I spoke with locally didn't know what I was talking about. I knew such a thing existed because my parents had an older version of this. Install was simple. I use this to hold a room door open just enough so our cat can get in and use her potty, but keeps out dogs out of there since they eat the cat poo. You have to make sure to install correctly and press that thing down tight to the floor. Too loose and the dog will push it in.

Easy to install.

Love it...works extremely well and keeps your hands free. Only negative is it is a bit large, but works well for regular doors, especially door to the garage.

Since I bought one and the condo management bought 30, I can clearly state thatthis design has caused significant floor damage. No stars for this at all. Called companyfor advice- which was- " So Sad- too bad "They made me add at least one star - not worth even one

Great product you hardly find anywhere else. Really convenient to operate. I can keep the door open at any angle. The price is a little high. But worth it.
