An absolute must for either 18v or 40v Makita stick vacuums that are cordless. It's is built like a tank, doesn't add too much weight, is easy to use and install as like any other nozzle it is plug and play, and the 5 inches or so of extra length actually help you to stand up straighter when using the vacuum rather than hunch over slightly like with the stock vacuum. It allows for quick cleanups as it efficiently maintains a vacuum because of keeping the filter clean, thus the speed at which you can move the roller head is actually quicker as well. I've even used this with other plug in vacuums as well when alot of fine dust that could clog filters normally is going to be sucked up, but it is designed to be used on Makita cordless stick vacuums. I swear it improves battery life as well, even though the vacuum has to work slightly harder, it isn't starved for air because of a clogged filter.

A must have accessory if you own or planning to buy the Makita Cordless Vacuum. It seamlessly attaches to the vacuum and the cyclone action makes gathering the debris easy and clean. Disposing the debris is easy due to easy snap function to open the bin. Best part is that most of the debris is collected in the cyclonic bin before it makes it to the main canister thus reducing how often you need to empty the main canister and clean your filter, while also prolonging life of the filter. Works really well on pet hair as well. Attaching it does make the vacuum heavy but the added functionality is totally worth it. Very highly recommended.

Nope, I didn't want to pay the extra, but I've used cyclone extractors in other contexts and they are great, separate out dust from larger particles, ultimately cost less than filters and significantly reduce filter monitoring and cleaning requirements, etc. This product, along with a sufficiently powerful battery pack, allows the Makita stick vacuum to work at its full potential, which is pretty impressive. I use this accessory every day, often and few times per day, and it makes the job easy, empties and cleans easily, and isn't too much in the way. It should come with the vacuum cleaner and will surely extend the life of the tool while making daily maintenance a breeze and allowing greatly improved pickup capacity. Here we must spend a few dollars more to enjoy what we already paid to have.

I’ve been using Makita hand vacuums for many years in my business. This add on is pretty cool. Find powdery items like dirt or sand or even the powdered laundry detergent I spilled in the garage last week come up the tube and end up spinning around in the bottom portion of this blue canister. Somehow the fine powdered items get separated out instead of going on up to clog the filter in the vacuum cleaner. I did notice that upon picking up medium sized items like dried up very small leaves from indoor plants, about an inch in size, they can clog the tube and reduce suction. Then you have to pull the attachment off and shake them out. No big deal It does add a little bit of weight to the vacuum cleaner but not too bad. I like the extra length it adds to the wand so I can stand up straighter. I like this enough that I just leave it on the vacuum and I always use it with it. You hardly end up with anything in the main vacuum cleaner section because almost all dirt gets trapped in this and only clean air goes up into the vacuum. I end up laughing out loud after a bit of use with it and I open up the main Makita vacuum cleaner section and find it still looking clean and brand new. Pretty neat.

The makita brushless vacuum is a real winner. I previously had a black and decker dust buster, Which is pretty good but it's battery is destined to fail and it is not replaceable. It's most regrettable how products are becoming more and more disposable these days , especially with toxic lithium batteries in them. The high powered reusable tool battery from makita makes a lot of sense with the vacuum cleaner. The makita brushless vacuum has good suction, a good filter and great speed control. It's one weakness Is that its filter gets easily clogged and is a mess to clean it out. The cyclonic attachment really addresses that one shortcoming. It picks up all the debris Before it hits the filter. On the downside it does reduce overall performance, reduces suction. It also has a friction fit that doesn't use the existing click-on fitting. There is a cheaper version of this vacuum which I previously owned, Which does not have a brushless motor, has weak suction and a poor filter. It's just bad. Spend a bit more and get any of the other makita vacuums that have a brushless motor.

So there's a fairly high probability if you are looking at this cyclonic separator you are looking to buy or already own the makita cordless vacuum ( we call it a dust buster in my house 😏 ); with that being said, this attachment is a MUST HAVE ITEM! This attachment greatly increases the time in between vacuum bag replacement/cleaning. The cyclonic action works wonders on drywall dust, bits of poly fill my a-hole dog spread all over and hair. It packs whatever debris into a round mass at the bottom of the container. Dumping is a one-handed operation where you pinch both sides, separate it and dump it in the trash. I did get some hair caught up on the center little black baffle thing after over filling it but that too is a simple quarter turn release. In short, buy this to go with the makita cordless vacuum and you will be happy you did. Last note, almost forgot, someone said in a review somewhere this thing was easily broken and I have found that to be completely untrue. Back to my a-hole dog he managed to push down the stairs and it tumbled all the way down. Less the touch up painting the wall there were no signs on anything makita that was broken or cracked.

It definitely adds more usage time with this attachment. It doesnt clog up the main filter. I do notice a reduce suction but not as much. It still does the job as my daily usage is just picking up hair and light debris. It does add a little weight to it but it wasnt a problem. It is very easy to clean/dump out, as everything goes to the canister. I would recommend this attachment to get more out of the vacuum.

My husband loves it, everything acumulated into this attachment so made it easy to clean too. Need to buy another one for my other family who has Matita's vacuum too.

Voilà qui change mon aspirateur Makita complètement ! Il y a deux sorte de filtres dans ces aspirateurs balais : un qui se nettoie à peu près facilement et l’autre que j’ai avec un sac en tissus difficile à nettoyer et qui quand il ne l’est pas diminue de beaucoup la succion. Mais avec cet accessoire on modifie cet aspirateur : Il devient cyclonique (j’ai enfin compris pourquoi les fameux aspirateur de ce genre coûtent si cher !) !!! Plus de nettoyage de filtre continuel et surtout : une aspiration démultipliée qui permet d’aspirer des déchets plus gros facilement (je m’en sert beaucoup pour aspirer les grains de la litière de ma chatte en permanence), ses longs poils et mes cheveux ne colmatent plus le filtre, et vider le réservoir est un vrai charme contrairement au dévissage pour vider le réservoir de l’aspirateur lui-même qui est plus compliqué et fait parfois des dégâts. Pas besoin de dévisser, il suffit d’appuyer sur les clamps noirs de chaque côté pour le retirer et le vider. Plus de filtre à brosser et à laver sauf quand on voit qu’il n’est plus très propre à travers le plastique ce qui n’était pas possible quand la poussière se retrouvait dans son compartiment. J’ai déjà commenté l’aspirateur lui-même qui est un vrai petit compagnon de tous les jours et qui me permet très facilement de garder mon espace de vie propre à tout moment. Celui-ci après la douzaine d’aspirateurs sans fil de marques différentes achetés et jetés après un an ou deux à cause de la pile qui était finie et non remplaçable est vraiment un plus dans une maison ou un atelier surtout si vous avez d’autres outils Makita et donc d’autres piles disponibles. J’en profite pour signaler que Makita fait un support mural pour le suspendre et que c’est bien dommage qu’Amazon ne le vende pas. Vous pouvez le trouver sur le site de Makita.

If your going to use your Makita vac and you have shedders, this is a must or the "native" filter will have to be cleaned constantly. Works well, build is a little light (like the vacuum) but it works.
