My cat didn’t even mind it!!! He will not tolerate a cone and after he had bowel obstruction surgery I needed to find a solution fast. This suit is amazing!!! It’s easy to get on and he doesn’t try to remove it!!! His stitches healed super well so far and he’s been wearing it for almost a week no issues! It’s also super cute haha. The photos are almost worth the 5k surgery 😭

UPDATE: In a move that would make Harry Houdini proud, my kitty slipped out of this thing in mere minutes after wearing it for 4.5 days. Over this time, the collar had managed to slip down to be more around his shoulders than his neck, which enabled him to get out with ease. Probably a good idea to check fit daily to make sure the collar does not get too low. I still think this is a good product, just watch for that issue. My cat is around 13.5 lb and the large size is a bit snug but the fabric is stretchy and he seems comfortable. And the bite on his tummy that he was licking incessantly has begun to heal. There are NO instructions on how to put this thing on - I had to look at pictures in other reviews to figure it out. Here, then, is how I did it. Velcro closure goes on top along the cat's backbone and the part that looks like a sweatshirt collar is indeed the collar that goes around the cat's neck. 1) Open up the velcro completely and lay out the onesie on a bed or the floor next to where your cat is resting. I did this on my bed so I wouldn't have to bend down much. Make sure that the inside of the onesie is facing you, with the holes for the back legs closest to you. 2) Gently cradle your kitty in one arm and hold him so that he's basically standing on his back legs right next to the open onesie. 3) Use your other hand to gently lift the cat's left rear leg just barely off the mattress and place it through the corresponding hole in the onesie. Go slowly, be patient, and speak gently and lovingly to your kitty as you do this - it's a weird experience for him and you want to keep him calm, happy, and not nervous! I was basically hugging him close to my body with my hear right next to his as I calmly talked him through this. 4) Repeat for the right-rear paw. 5) Slowly and gently slide the onesie up enough to put the left front paw through its corresponding hole. 6) Bring the collar hole over the cat's head, always moving slowly and talking gently, and telling your kitty how good he's being and how this will help him get better! 7) Put the right front paw through its corresponding hole. 8) Adjust the onesie enough to close the velcro - it doesn't have to be perfect. Just get it closed and allow your cat to get used to the feeling of wearing this item. Opening velcro is REALLY noisy and some cats may find it unnerving, so don't fiddle with the velcro just yet. 9) If you've gotten it on him, success! Don't worry about adjusting the fit - the cat will take care of this for you as he moves around a bit. After the kitty has worn the onsie for a couple hours and has gotten used to it, you can readjust the velcro if you want to do so. I was REALLY surprised that my kitty let me do this - he is pretty nervous about having one of his back paws handled after I had clipped one nail too short YEARS ago. But he allowed me to do it, and he actually seems to like wearing it - like the thundershirt vests, I think he gets the feeling of an all-over hug from it. (Though both of my cats really did not like the thundershirt - I think it was too constricting and they never seemed to get used to it.) One thing to be aware of: this will compress the cat's fur a bit, so he may not be as warm as usual when wearing it. If it's wintertime, make sure that your cat has a heated bed or other way to keep warm while wearing this item. I bought two of these so I could wash one while he wears the other. So far, it seems to be working well. He can eat, drink, use the litterbox, and groom without disturbing his wound. I think that for really large cats the L size might be a bit small. Very pleased with this item.

Bought this for my cat when she got spayed and they're definitely better than a bulky cone. My cat isn't too fond of wearing it, and sometimes bites at it but they still hold up. At first I was nervous because it secures with velcro, but the velcro is doing great and hasn't gotten stuck on any blankets, or come loose from biting and pulling. I thought my cat would be a small so that's what I ordered, plus one medium just incase and the medium actually works better, so when you order get multiple so you can keep them clean, and try the sizes. I ordered more in the size she wears and the blue color seems to be bigger than the pink color. Pink is fine but in the blue one she gets her arms stuck in the body and then wiggles out. They're super easy to put on. I personally start with the head and then the legs. The head hole actually sits more around their chest so when she tries to run I can hold her in place just by holding the onesie. Sometimes when the cat is laying down it's easier to put all her limbs in the correct spot. !!ORDER THEM BEFORE THE VET APPOINTMENT!!! That way the vet can put it on your cat after the surgery and they can wear it home. If you wait to put it on at home, you'll have to deal with a very angry cat, and the process will be more difficult and stressful. Again I recommend buying multiple to keep them fresh. My cat hasn't gotten it dirty from eating or the litter box, but as her stiches heal, there has been some leakage or leftover blood the very first day, so having multiple means your cat always has clean material over the stitches, and when you change them it gives you an opportunity to check the healing process and take any additional steps. Other times I'll just take a peek through the leg hole to make sure the stiches are okay. Overall this is a great product, my main issue is that the sizing guide was a little off for my cat, and different colors seem to fit differently, so I definitely recommend buying multiple to see what fits your cat best. I bought this for my cat (female) and it works great but I'm not sure if it'll work for male cats. Other procedures that require tummy stitches will be fine, but not for dogs, the yail opening won't allow a dog to relieve themselves without peeing themselves.

10/10! I only wish it had come in the mail earlier!!! Unfortunately not a replacement for the cone in our case, though. My cat escaped the backyard just over a week ago, and got into a fight with something very large, likely a dog. He needed multiple major surgeries on his abdomen, including a hernia repair, and some repairs to muscles on his leg. The abdominal wounds were very infected, so he also required stents for a week to drain them. His surgeon strongly recommended we keep an infant onesie on him along with the ecollar (aka the cone of shame). After one week of delicately fighting with an injured cat to get the onesie on, finding in the morning that he'd slipped out of the onesie again, and when I did get it to stay, cleaning up the messes when he pooped and peed all over it regardless of how I cut the bottom... I can't recommend this item enough. The cat pictured is just over a year old, his body is approximately 15 inches from neck to tail. Weight is approximately 13.5lbs, and he is wearing a Large. It fits well, thankfully with lots of stretch; enough that I can fit a large absorbent surgical dressing pad inside over his tummy, and he can use the litter box unhindered. The leg part is not irritating the wound on his left leg/flank either. If there were a size larger, it might fit him a little better because of his length; the neck part is sliding down and the two snaps closest to the base of his tail aren't fastened. However, it is still secure, he can't get out of it, he's not even trying, and he's more comfortable than he's been in over a week. I might add, my cats are large. If you have a larger cat or larger breed cat like a Maine Coon, Siberian, Norwegian Forest cat, etc., I might seek out a similar suit that is intended for smaller dogs - two of my four definitely would not fit in this particular suit if they needed one (God forbid!) For most cats, though, this product is phenomenal. After we recover from the vet bills, I plan to purchase some extras and donate them to the animal hospital so that nobody else needs to go through the nightmare of getting an angry, hurt cat into a baby onesie!!!!!

I bought this for my four month-old kitten when she was getting spayed. She’s fiesty, and I did not trust her to leave her incision alone. This kitty outfit seemed perfect for her. I had no idea which size to buy however, as I tried measuring her but again, she’s fiesty so I wasn’t able to get accurate measurements. I bought a small and medium to be safe. I didn’t want it too loose but I also didn’t want it too tight on her incision. The day of the surgery, I attempted to put her in the small when I realized the medium was too big. A HALF HOUR LATER, I finally got her in it. This was partly my fault, and mostly hers. First, I put it on upside down because I’m an idiot. Then she fought me tooth and nail (literally) the whole time. Even with my boyfriend’s help, it was an absolute nightmare. But once it was on, it was obvious it was perfect. It covered the incision, and she could walk and use the litter box. I actually slept that night with ease knowing I wasn’t going to wake up to find my kitten had ripped her incisions out. Or so I thought. The next day my boyfriend woke me up to inform me that our wild child (she was a stray, after all) had somehow managed to Houdini herself out of the suit during the night. Yep. All that for nothing. The only good thing I can report is she left her stitches alone. If my kitten wasn’t the craziest feline I’d ever owned, I could give this five stars. If it wasn’t for the fit I’d like to think this suit would have stayed on and been what I needed, but I can’t say for sure. My kitten is bad bad bad, and does whatever the hell she wants. If your cat is having surgery and there will be an incision somewhere on the belly, I have no doubt that this suit will be perfect for your kitty. I know when my kitten had it on, she couldn’t get to hers. So if you take anything away from my crazy and long-winded review, let it be that. If you’re unsure of the size, buy two to be safe and return the other like me. And I hope your cat is not as nuts as mine!

My cat had surgery on a Wednesday morning for a mammory tumor. They told me she would be given a cone that she absolutely had to wear for 10 days and that she had to be kept in a large kennel as well, away from the other pets. I knew this was going to be almost impossible but had to figure something out quick! The day of her surgery, I told them they needed to fit her with a soft cone, which they agreed. I then went on the hunt for a second option should the cone not meet my satisfaction. I found this cat onesie and purchased same day delivery! Thank God, I did! We had set up a play pen in the media room with a security camera to watch her since we were not going to be in there as much as the other parts of our house. Watching the camera the night she came home, we noticed she slipped out of her cone. Put it back on, and she slipped out of it again. It was getting later and later and I couldn't go to sleep knowing she'd slip out of it again and start licking her stitches so I immediately opened the package and put the onesie on her. WHAT A RELIEF!!! She didn't care for it much and wouldn't move but boy did it do the job!! She eventually got used to it and I'd switch back n forth with the soft cone and onesie. Soft cone for when I was able to be around her and the onesie for when I was not in the room. Needless to say, she healed just fine and if not for the onesie, my life would've been 10 days of heart ache!!!! She is 10 and a half lbs and wore a size large. It would slip down a tad at the neck when she would roll around but it stayed on just fine. It is very soft and easy to put on and take off, with the velcro straps closing on the back, not the stomach area. The material did not rub her stitches nor did it tear. The onesie held up perfectly! I am very satisfied with my purchase and definitely recommend this for any cat after surgery.

Sizing and styles are not consistent with the color choices. The gray in large runs small and does not have a string in the neck piece which causes the neck to slide down on the cat. The grey also has snaps not Velcro. My cat is 9.5 pounds, grey did not work but lavender draw string style did work. I tried the lavender size large, has a draw string on the neck , it fits him correctly, it’s not small and does not slide down. With the grey my neutered cat was able to lick his area. Not sure how he will be with the lavender or blue color style garment. ( I had purchased for my girl but was too big but recently order him a blue since the style is like the purple). The lavender size large did not work on my other cat which is 7.5 pds, the legs were too big and the garment was to long. I recently order a medium to see how it will work, While I am waiting for that to arrived I purchased another brand size large and it worked well for her and the medium did not in another brand. I’ll update this post when her medium arrives to give you an idea if that size is better for her pounds. She could not were this products garment because it was big so I can’t tell you how it would have went with the licking for those who are spade.

Summary: No-mess rear opening, full coverage of abdomen, great fit and material, next-day delivery, provides peace of mind—so good I ordered more! My cat (male, 8 y/o) had a cystotomy last week to remove bladder stones after a urinary blockage, and I wanted to avoid the cone of shame. The first onesie I bought was from a popular chain store—don’t waste your money. The rear part got soaked in pee the first time he used the box, and the coverage of the abdomen was bad. The material moved around while he groomed, making me nervous. Thankfully this one arrived a few hours later and saved the day (and the next week or so)! Rear opening is the right size—not even a dribble of pee/poop. It offers FULL COVERAGE of abdomen, leaving no possibility of him licking his incision. The material is very light and stretchy. It holds him in really well without compressing and without tight seams/edges that dig in. It seems virtually escape-proof. It is also easy to get on and off. I ordered a second one and would order a third. One note about the different colors: the blue onesie has a wider, adjustable neck opening and closes with Velcro, but the gray one does not have the wide, adjustable neck opening, and has snaps instead of Velcro. Runs true-to-size—I ordered a medium for my 9 lb cat, which was the perfect fit. Highly recommend, both for cat’s recovery and owner/parent peace of mind!

Nos encanto, la gatita tiene 17 años y es difícil encontrarle ropita que la ayude a moverse y mantenerla calientita, mas por que debemos raparla, porque ya no puede acicalarse sola, para proteger su piel esta fue una estupenda adquisición porque le permiten moverse.

Recomiendo 100%. Excelente y de buen tamaño. El que elegimos no tiene velcro, es de botoncitos y funciona perfecto.

Ampliamente recomendado para tu gatita recién esterilizada; mi gatita salió con el cono de la vergüenza del Vet y pobrecita, se sentía tan desubicada y vulnerable, y si se lo quitaba inmediatamente iba hacia las suturas en su pancita, en cambio con esta pijamita, le protege perfectamente la herida y ella se siente libre otra vez, además de que se ve hermosa! 😍 Asegúrate de medir de cuello a donde empieza su cola 🐈👏
