DecoArt DS19-3 Americana DuraClear Varnishes, 2-Ounce, Gloss

I saw a few other reviews saying this varnish cleared cloudy or didn't dry very well, but mine seemed to work perfectly. It's thin enough to use easily, can mix things like glitter in without a problem, doesn't smell bad, dries clear, and doesn't peel or lift!!

Really easy to use and offers a nice glossy shine. I mainly use it with 3D prints and it works pretty well as a top coat after acrylic paint. It is very thin and runny, so make sure to use a brush and apply multiple coats. It is very sturdy after it dries though! I dropped my latest project from about 3 feet and there was no damage on that top coat.

This gloss varnish is awesome!!!! Has a really nice shine and so far has kept rocks from fading in the AZ sun.

Lid was loose under the seal and product leaked a little in route. The label is not colorfast and printing is prone to transferring off label onto hands. However, the varnish worked very well, sealing my acrylic paint job on metal and plastic miniature and dried to touch in short order, within an hour, and very hard like a pro finish over night. It covered easily with little odor and appears to be very durable. It did cause one tiny blemish in the fully dried paint, but that was more user error due to using too dry a brush and pressing too hard. Varnished over the little wound and along with the painted surfaces, and once the varnish dried I applied one acrylic paint coat over it, allowed that to dry, then varnished again. cannot see where the damage was. Would love to see the label and package improved, hence the one star deduction, but I am thrilled with the actual product. Will likely buy again in the future.

Custom painting some Harry Potter wands that I 3D printed and I needed them to have the glossy wood look. This worked perfectly!

Worked well for a paint project. Less expensive than big box stores so good value. Easy to use.

Quality paint for ceramics great quality and price.

Works great to coat and shine rock art. One coat protects the paint two coats gives it a shine and three coats gives it a nice gloss. It's a bit pricey, it would be better if it came in a bigger bottle but a few drops is all it takes to do a good coating.

This is a fabulous varnish that I'm really pleased with so far. I've been painting kindness rocks to leave around my village with my youngest child, she enjoys the concept. Having previousky used mod podge to seal and coat, ive then watched some media online of tutorials and discovered this brand. The finish is lovely! It leaves a light shine over the design, it's nowhere near the effect of UV resin so no glass like ending, but the subtle shine is more enjoyable and gives designs more life. The consistemcy of the varnish is thin but not watery, has just enough to it so that it doesnt run off everything. Easy to clean off fingers and surfaces. My advice is use thin layers as a little goes a long way and fries quickly. Thin layers allow you to build up the shine and the protection too. There is barely a scent to the liquid so easy to work with. I've used this over acrylic paints on rocks, wood and glass, I've also used it over tissue paper when decopaging so it's extremly versatile and hasn't given me any issues. I bought the smallest of pots to begin as a trial size and it's lasted ages and covered loads so far, it wasnt the cheapest but I think there is definitely value for money considering how long it's lasted me. When this runs out I'm going to invest in the biggest bottle as I'm really happy with the brand and the quality.
