Was sent CC not CS5
CC and CS5 are a tad different in major interactions of the cropping making this book irrelevant to what I was trying to look into. For how long I also waited for the book, this is rather disappointing. Not returning because it was a rather cheap book and some parts are still relevant.

One of the most comprehensive, well organised easy reads I have found!
Just wanted let everyone know and to say thank you to Lynette for producing an easy to follow, understand, extremely well organized and content filled book. Further I was super excited to see it already available for Kindle. Although I have had CS5 Master Suite for over a year now (*those who have learned this in the past know the curve)...I am just starting to finally rap my head around some of the finer points of CS5 Photoshop, Bridge (*of course mini bridge) and Lightroom 3. However I am still trying like a bald tired monster motored hot rod in the mud, to get moving on learning most of the rest of CS5 still (did I mention I have master suite), but Photoshop along with OnOne's Perfect Photo Suite, Topaz Labs Suite and Unified Colors Suites have been my primary focus.Lynette, Your book will aid in my learning more than you may ever know. I was a top IT OP's/Deployment manager until a torn retina cost me most of my vision. That, coupled with other heath issues left me with little more than the taking/playing with a photo here & there and that is all I have left (yep - blind photographer, what a concept!). So this really has so far been and no doubt will continue to be a fun read, Again Thank You and as always - Cheers! Brad

Innovative, Effective Format
§I usually quickly pass over books on the store shelf with titles that include words like "visual" or "simplified" or "in 24 hours" or "for dummies". Despite experiences to the contrary, I am reluctant to voluntarily toss myself into the dummy demographic bin. If I shell out money for a book, it is because I am serious about the subject -- and the book, with all its distilled knowledge, should serve as a reachable resource on the shelf next to the computer. This is one of those shelfable books.Keeping text to a minimum, the author provides step-by-step instructions for dealing with a large array of problems most commonly encountered by the type of people who enter the Photoshop swamp. I have some other, very nice, Photoshop books but the tightly organized and compact format of this one means that the guidance I want is close at hand and presented far more professionally than available in an internet search. My main critcism of the book is the same I have for most Photoshop books: it has a bias toward photographers. We unwashed Web and UI designers are forced to pick up valuable scraps where we can find them.Recommended for no-nonsense, non-dummy types.§

Good to get you going with new stuff
As a long time Photoshop user with two thick dusty books on CS3 I decided I'd try something lighter in cost, weight, and subject depth. I wanted a book to help get me going with CS5's new features. This was OK for that and a bit more giving me a few tips & tricks I wish I'd known for previous PS versions. I feel it was a good value.

Photoshop Simplified by Lynette Kent
This book, by far, is the very best Adobe Photoshop explanatory text. It compliments a basic text on Photoshop. Even for a beginner like me, this book offers so many ideas for the use of Photoshop. And, many ideas springboard off the lessons offered by this book.I highly recommend any Photoshop user to get the book. You will grow and be better using Photoshop. Amazon, thank you for carrying the book. FYI, I just bought another copy.

Photoshop CS5: Top 100 Simplified Tips and Tricks (Top 100 Simplified Tips & Tricks)
I've been using Photoshop since 1992, but I was surprised at all the cool stuff I didn't know about in this program. I had actually started getting into it and was so impressed with what I was learning that I thought it would be a good resource for my niece, who is currently taking photoshop courses in college with instructors who leave much to be desired. She loved the book so much that I purchased a second copy for her to keep as a reference.

Quick, brief review:
Found this to be the best step-by-step guide yet to Photoshop CS5. I will certainly be on the lookout for other publications in this series. The tips and tricks described are essential to using CS5 and to good editing of photographs and they are all illustrated and described in an easy-to-follow method that eliminated frustration and unnecessary details that are great if one wishes to be 'learned' but not so good if one desires technical proficiency and excellence of outcome. Highly recommended.

One Of Many, Most All Good
Photoshop being so popular just when one things who needs another book something like this comes out and if you get a look inside you will have to have it.It does go a long LONG way in making the somewhat complicated software highly usable by newbies.Claudia Strasbaugh

Simply brilliant
I`m a bit of a beginner when it comes to CS5 ,lets face it - its a huge piece of software. This book leads you step by step in a clear and easily understandable manner , from easy to difficult tasks, making anything you choose to tackle ,very rewarding.Such tasks , would be out of the reach of most beginners without this guide. This book would also appeal to intermediate users , and I cannot praise the author enough for the way that she has styled this book , colour photos and numbered steps are invaluable. If you`re looking for an undaunting introduction to CS5 , then look no further - simply brilliant.

Excellent Book for CS5 Beginners
I have purchased this book with the hope of learning some tricks on CS5 and it really has some key tricks. If you are a person who is new to CS5 and want to learn specific things then this is the book for you.It gives step by step how to do explanation on many topics and you can't miss to learn them.Saying that, as it does not start from the very basics of Photoshop, you shall have certain knowledge of PS otherwise you may have difficulties in learning but memorizing the moves. On the other hand, if you already have read many books or online articles on PS or CS5 you must have alreadylearnt many tricks through those and which is the case for me.In that respect i did not get much of " this i did not know " moments when i went through the book. From that perspective the book was not so useful to me, at the same time it will be an excellent reference bookto keep in my library for " how was it? " questions for the actions I would not repeat so frequently. This is why i give 5 star to it...So highly recommended for the beginners of CS5.

If you have progressed from Elements there is very little in ths book for you
Elements users who progress to CS5/6 will already know most of the information in this book, some key shortcut are given but overall it will be of little use to the experienced user of elements moving to CS5 it is reasonably well layed out and for the beggine rit will give you some help but there are better informative books available, adobe training videos are also a very good information resource

A gem
I have bought all the usual tutorial books on both CS4 and 5 but this is a gem and does exactly what it says. I particularly like the fact when the author says to use or do a specific thing there is an illustration plus the instruction is numbered. The information is clear and concise well worth the money. I just wish the author would do one for Lightroom 3.

Photoshop Made Simple....
I bought other books which gave me the required information but found them difficult to absorb in 'easy speak'This book changed all that and is without doubt the second best purchase I have made (after Photoshop itself, of course!!)Highly recommended. Enjoy....
