Rola 59307 Convoy Modular Bike Carrier (1-1/4" Base Unit), 1 Pack

Overall is a very good rack. Well designed and the components seems sturdy. What I like the most is the modular design: you can go from 1 thru 4 "racks" with individual add-ons and it can fit from kid bikes to fat tire bikes. I haven't see any other rack with this modular design. At most, other racks can go from 2 to 4, but not one-by-one as this rack. Usually I ride solo and sometimes I'll be adding 2 o 3 more add-on units for the family.This rack is a bit heavier than other similar ones but it seems due to its quality components. Also, the car is towing the rack, not me, so the extra 10-15 pounds is not a big concern.

Good value for the money. Bought it for a 1050 mile drive to CO with a 29er mountain bike. Retrofitted a top strap from the head tube to the trunk for more stability. No issues the entire trip. The rack is already rusting though. Several of the components have turned orangish-brown.

This is amazing. High quality and well designed.

Used this a total of four times and maybe a total of 50Miles. Poor construction and no way to contact Rola about it. And seller never replied for warranty.

Single bike, easy to load, and bike stays secure.

This carrier rides very high, it's built to attach more units so its elevated to accept extra weight. The issue is its too high, its extremely difficult to lift a 50 or 60lb fat tire ebike onto the carrier. I had to get a small ramp to assist. The bike wants to jump out of the front wheel holder, so it requires extra strapping to hold in place (not furnished). The locks are useless, both of them. Several plastic parts prone to breakage, and its heavy , takes some gusto to lift and get into hitch.

I bought this rack for a number of reasons. I wanted a tray-style rack that allowed me to attach the arm to the wheel rather than the frame. This rack does a good job with that. I also bought it for the locking feature. After two uses, the lock got stuck in the locked position with the bike on the rack. I scrambled to get the mechanism off. I contacted the manufacturer who sent a replacement part. While I appreciate the good customer service, the lock is cheap. I don’t have a lot of hope that it’ll continue to work. I’ll use an alternative locking system (cable and lock) instead. The system would be perfect if it had a reliable lock. I like that it’s significantly less expensive than the competition.

It is good bike rack, good price, but the hitch pin and hitch pin hole is not universal fit 0.5 "(1/2").It is 12mm which is smaller than 0.5"(12.7mm), so I cannot find that hitch pin in the store and ebay, online also..
