Does the printer ink disappear faster over time on this type of paper?

No problem yet. The paper is not as pure white as that which is more expensive but I find it perfectly adequate.

Is this 5 reams or 1 ream?

Hi, This is 5 reams (a box). However, I would point out that the paper has a "greenish" colour so, if bright white paper is required, I would recommend another option. Personally, I find the Amazon Basics paper to be excellent. Certainly better than most of the cheaper end Xerox/ HP papers! Hope this helps? Dave
