Rode SC7 3.5mm TRS to TRRS Patch Cable

If you need to connect a rode mic to your iPhone or iPad, you'll need THIS cable, not one of the knock offs. Luckily, it performs as expected and all of my rode gear has been of the highest quality. However, for the first time in my life I ordered a product that arrived with an empty box. These cables are very light, so unless you shake the box to hear the cable it could definitely happen. The problem was that I had a shoot scheduled where I needed to include my iPhone as one of the cameras and I needed this cable for the audio. Luckily, the seller stepped up and overnighted a replacement and it made it just time for use. The could have drug thier feet for 48 hours and made the process go slowly, but they stood by the product and helped me resolve the problem. Big kuddos to them to correct a mistake by rode in manufacturing.

Worth the money, though you can find a cheaper one that works as well with other cameras. Please keep in mind that this is only for camera devices, NOT for mobile devices. I am using Rode VideoMicro with this and it works really well, considering it was made by the same company, you’d expect it to work in the get-go and with high quality. I use the mic and the cable with Osmo pocket. And the sound is really great and very clear. Please remember to use the furry wind shield if you are using the mic outdoors, most specially in windy environments. Overall I am happy with the purchase and the quality sound I am getting from this product.

I wish I knew about this sooner! I bought the 3.5mm TRS to TRRS cable to make it work with my iPhone along with a USBC Adapter, but that adapter would ruin the quality of the audio. Now with the USBC to 3.5mm TRS cable there’s no need for the adapter (duh) and the quality is super clear! If you are buying this to be able to record from your phone with a RODE WIRELESS GO II mic (which was my case): skip it. All you need is the 3.5mm TRS to USB-C cable.

Works perfectly. Remember if you are using your Rode Mic with an iPhone you will need to have this cable. Some of the mic's come with cables so let me break it down. The cables the mic's come with have 2 rings this cable has 3 rings. You want to plug the Gray head into the iPhone and the black one into the mic. Yes it will recored without using this cable and just using the cable the mic comes with but you might get a hum or a pop in your audio. Also heads up. If you are buying a Rode mic from here make sure its from a place you buyer you trust. Apparently there have been quite a few counterfeits. Just a heads up. Hope this review helps. I saw on a video how to get my Ode mic connected to my iPhone and this was the product. It works and it came to me as it said it would, on time.

If you have the Rode Wireless GO II and want to connect it to your iPhone, you need this SC7 cable. It’s compact, reliable, and keeps the connection solid without any hassle.

Here's the complete story. I wanted to use this to convert my headphone outs from my audio interface to be able to input as a microphone to my phone. Well, that didn't work! But given the quality of the product, and being a filmmaker and musician trying to build a home studio, I have no doubts I'll find use of this product in one place or another. The quality is phenomenal. Way better than all the wires and extensions I've ever owned and I've owned quite a few ones ranging from the ones that go bad in a month to about 2-3 months. And I come from a background where I also have experience with expensive guitar cables to plug into my amps and pedals. This little thing is absolutely stunningly built. (If it wasn't then I would never buy anything Rode ever again).
