how do you turn it on?

the shower is controlled by 2 rotary switches. There is a power light indicator to show that the unit is powered (always powered if no isolator switch is fitted) no waterflow is actioned until the unit is powered by the rotary controls to set temperature and heat 1 or 2 I would recommend that you have an isolation switch to turn on / off power i have done this with a pull cord located on the bathroom ceiling hope this helps

Has it got a bottom and left hand feed?

Does this use hot and cold water or is it cold water only

As I recall it used cold water and heated it electrically in the shower unit, but we changed to a power shower several years ago as it did not provide a stable warm shower and someone running water elsewhere in the house during use caused sudden temperature fluctuations
